A strange village church ⛪️

This morning we went to a village church on our way to the small town where we do some shopping.
This church is called “l’église des saints guérisseurs “
The center piece is made of carved stone covered with gold leaf ( usually it’s wood)
The church of the Holy Healers. This is the translation I found. This church is built on a sacred stone  a dolmen and it is an old Normand belief, between religion and popular beliefs. When you have any problems, but mostly health problems each of these sacred statue can help you. You have to take a ribbon cut it in half , pray  and tie one piece to the statue of the Saint you choose and the second half on you. You also can write on a piece of paper what you are praying for and put it in a box or at the foot of the statue.

You can see the ribbons and the papers at the feet of the statue.

This is the Saint of the church « Notre Dame D’Iville »
The village name. This statue is also very rare and dates back to the building of the church.
This is a rare statue very old one Pietà.
All around the church are small drawings ( I don’t know the significance but it is very old.

In villages churchyards there is always a yew tree this one dates back to 1742 and most of the church is from the 12 Century.
This is an old churchyard

We also went not only to visit, but we are often going to pray during our free  time.
I hope you enjoyed the visit.

  2. This old church is so interesting, inside and also outside. Many people will have felt comforted after appealing to those healing saints.

After our outing, it is now a working day!

Today, was working day! I have been painting the whole day. My little garden shed has been damaged by a storm, so we bought some wood panels...
