Preparing to make jam.

Yesterday, I finished my dry oranges 🍊 some to hang on the Christmas tree and bits and pieces for a Pot pourri.

Today I am preparing my jam copper pot as I am going to make jam for our grandsons.

Last evening , the sun came through the windows before dark. I was crocheting when I saw the light on my new mushrooms!🍄 

This afternoon I have to plant my bulbs and will order some new ones from The Netherlands.

 The sun is here for two more days and rain during the weekend, so better hurry in the garden!🪴

 Yesterday I have printed some of my pictures and will get frames on Saturday.

Mr L is working on one of his puzzle every evening !

Yesterday, I found this child little planter and I thought it would be nice to grow radishes and flowers with Maxime when he will be there. All the tools are included for 12 euros ( at Gifi) he is not used to much plants in the town and desert 🐪 !

Afterwards, I went to get some fabric for the cradle quilt and came across this fabric that will match the decoration of my son’s room and furniture transfer I will have to do in the boys’ room. Sea, lighthouse…

This is the shop 12 kms from home , nothing nearer

But they have wool and all you need for crafting.

Today it
will be reading day! Our authorities have decided to cut power during two hours today. We received a lettre and I don’t think it will only be once!

Two days ago I have heard on the local news that all the villages in our surroundings, including us will have their water bill 60% more expensive ! They have to do work on the water network and don’t have enough money…so we have to pay! But 60% more is enormous.

The power will be cut from 2 to 4 this afternoon and there may be incidents on the lines afterwards in case we did not get the power back we must call a number, I hope everything gets back to normal! Keep our fingers crossed !!!

I don’t know how the shops, hairdressers and industries will do?

Well! It’s a bad time for everybody here today, but also in the coming times!

What about your country ? Have you got problems?

But on Saturday we are going to IKEA and to a secondhand baby shop to see what we can get . I already got a baby chair last year and some toys I have cleaned and disinfected. I am so glad to decorate the boys room!

Baking and cooking day.

 Hello Friends

Today, the weather was sunny this morning but now it is all grey. No rain today!

This morning I took my car and drove to the next village to get some very good bread. My son in law is coming tomorrow to help me, so I am preparing special lunch for him. I also went to the butcher to get some meat to cook home made burgers for him.

Then when I came back I baked the pear and caramel cake, I baked butternut with goat cheese raisins and bacon, also sweet potatoes we will eat with yogurt sauce. I also got some porc meat to cook with cider and carrots 🥕. So now I have spent two or three hours cooking and baking , but now I can rest and watch “Shetland “.

I also did the cleaning of the Maileg mice house and started its Christmas decoration.

The sun is back! 🌞

Yesterday, I worked on my chest of drawers. I added 

Manuscripts in between the flowers.

I have still work on the third drawer.

I have got to rub the transfer on the drawer.

At the same time, I am working on my wardrobe

I baked this little pastries. Two puff pastries and in between I put orange 🍊 jam twisted the little squares and on top sugar mixed with cinnamon which is very easy and good with coffee.

I am feeling a little better. I have a chronic health problem, so as soon as I feel a relief I am back to housekeeping!

Chest of drawers transfer.

This morning while it was cool 14 degrees C. Yesterday I phone the dentist a tooth crown came off this weekend 

And while I was driving to do my weekly shopping I had a phone call in my car, somebody cancelled his appointment and I had to drive back to replace the patient. After the dentist had replaced the crown, I still did not have done my shopping… went back to the shop and finally did my shopping, but forgot my list! So some things are missing and I will have to go back tomorrow !

This afternoon it is hot 🥵 30degrees C, but i had to go to the post office ( as in the country it is open only in the afternoon , then I came back home.

I baked an apricot pie, I got plenty of apricots this morning.

Yesterday I painted my chest of drawers, I had it already painted in black, but as I had paint I renewed the colour before the transfer that I applied this afternoon. Tomorrow I must put the varnish and continue in the front. I did some transfer in the past, but not as big. It is easy but takes time.

 This is the result!

I was on the phone with my daughter and some apricots are too cooked… but it will be good 😊

I will decorate the front of the drawers.

I will put the big transfer on top

Then I will have to protect them with non shine varnish.

At the moment it is cold and rainy, before the weekend heat 30C.

I visited a friend, who has a decoration shop and is Vintage Paint JDL retailer now and she is also selling

« Re design transfer » I needed something to do and decided to get one for my English chest of drawers.

(Blogger decided of the pictures order!)

My son went back to Dubai and I need to prepare for their arrival in August which is good for me to be busy.

Prepare for the little one. I bought new clothes for Maxime during our sales, so that they have less to bring, I must buy some new books and already got new second hand toys ( which I have already cleaned )

The high chair is ready, the bed… we must go to IKEA to get some safety items and it will be ready.

This Saturday evening my husband made a restaurant reservation  in the village of my childhood ( La Bouille) it is a very touristic place and after the meal we will have a walk along the river Seine.

By them I am resting after all the emotions of last week

and I have to do all the administrative  procedures, but I found a firm who does all of the procedures for me which is a relief. The procedures are very long if you are not a professional.

I will show you the result of my chest of drawers soon I hope.

Drawers find and new finds.

 

Hello Friends,

Yesterday, I went out to get the electricity and water from my mother’s flat cut. Many papers, too many!

But the people there were very helpful.

Then after a long time doing papers I went for a drive to have a break. I went to Action a shop where I get bird food at a reasonable price and also craft items such as cotton and wool.

Opening a drawer I found two candle holders I had forgotten about and two candles I brought from Norway.

It was only 12 euros ( at Leclerc)

And this little mirror ( at Action)yesterday. (7 euros)

Today, I have to go to the ophthalmologist to see for my second cataract surgery. I don’t like eye surgeries!

A taxi  will take me there as Mr L is too busy working.

 I have sent a parcel to Maxim ( my grandson) on the 16th and the post instead of sending it to Dubai has sent it to …Quatar! I have made a complaint yesterday ( it cost 65 euros to send a parcel ) it should normally arrive quickly, but once my parcel went via Ukraine to go to Dubai!

I am always worried when I send something by our post. Fingers crossed it will arrive quickly.

For the post there is no incident, but I said it was an incident when it goes to the wrong country!
