A Friday morning 🌅

 Today I drove 22kms to get my dog food! Bandit has digestive problems and he only  eats food from the vet 

Without cereals. After the vet I went to Lidl supermarket to get fresh fruits and vegetables 🥒 then went to the baker to get bread at the same time I bought two apricot  tartes and came back home. 

This morning it was raining a little bit, but now we are having sun and 20 degrees C.

I have really appreciated my apricot tarte I like a good simple cakes and apricots are very good!😊

Now I have housework to do and tidying.

Summer tarte! Tomorrow the temperature is going to rise again and in two weeks now we will fortunately have the AC installed downstairs!

Hello Friends!

Today, I the first day I’m feeling better. I made yogurts, baked an apple tarte  and a cherry 🍒 clafoutis.

Our neighbours have a cherry tree but as they are getting very old they leave the cherries for the birds, I find many eaten cherries on our grass.

This afternoon is watching “Grantchester” and watercolour.

The laundry is done but ironing will be tomorrow.

Roses, marathon and vintage toys.

Today is AC maintenance day, so I am waiting for their arrival.

This rose bush is at the back of the house. Lots of flowers this year, this is a rose year!

 On Sunday we sorted out all the toys for our grandchildren and also our children’s toys. 

I cleaned some soft toys and we had a lot of souvenirs with these 80’s soft toys. Do you remember?

From flax to linen

Hello Friends 

This morning I went to have a look at the field next to our garden and I am waiting for the flax flowers to come out!

It will be all blue ( a very special blue) just for a few days.

The flowers will open in the morning in the sun and close every evening.

On the first picture is the kind of thread coming from the stems after they are dried. You don’t cut the flax but it is torn out. Then it becomes rough string on picture one or thread to weave fabric like the fabric on the pictures and very thin fabric to make clothes.

In summer I wear linen which is cool but crumples but for me it doesn’t matter.

The lavender is blooming soon ready to put in small bags and go into the drawers.

I love the simplicity of this flower and it’s beautiful colour.

Just starting to bloom I am impatiently waiting for the full bloom! Normandy is a big agricultural producer 50% of the world production. 

By the wait Maud our daughter finished the Marathon yesterday more than 40 kms! 

Our son is in the plane going to Europe for his job.

As usual I am always worried when he flies especially now. 

Tomorrow they are coming for the AC’s maintenance 

A the next week a wood delivery will arrive for the winter.

As I have not been well these days I have plenty to do but no hurry I’ll do my best this week.

In a few minutes I will be following on my phone our daughter’s marathon for freedom on the Normandy coast.

Lots of young people will run today 5000!

Our daughter has been training for months and now it’s the day

 Her name is Maud but her brother when he was little called her Momaud! This is her number “ in the footsteps of Heroes”! 

I saw that she was training and the marathon will start I’d better go and be on my phone to follow her.

A new start!

Hello Friends!

I am recovering little by little and we received the order from Ikea. Another new bed and something to sort toys for our grandchildren. My husband has built all last weekend.

This week I could not do much and stayed most of the time in my recliner. It was not a good week!

The temperature went down fortunately.

I think this weekend will be better.

Look at my two students  in the plane ✈️ coming back from visiting London!

Watching a film quietly and eating their lunch.

I had them twice on Skype this week and they enjoyed visiting places but it was very, very hot there in London.

Kew Gardens 

Hello friends!

Heat continues 33 degrees C this afternoon and I am still not feeling too well. I went out early this morning to do some shopping. Essentially fruits and vegetables and salad. I came back quickly inside! I should put the car in the garage, but it is too hot to go outside.

The pictures are from my grandsons, in fact as there is a religious holiday in Dubaï they decided at the last minute to fly to London the airspace being re opened.

But London is again hotter than France! 

My son took the children to Paddington experience, science museum…

And the second picture is from Kew Gardens .

But today my son just has sent me a message and told me that William and himself were sick. They have spent  a week in London and go back home tomorrow .

I am glad they discovered London if I had been on better health I would have been with them as it is not too far from France. But we will meet soon again end of July .

On Sunday we should loose 10 degrees! 😮‍💨 

Now I must prepare cottage cheese with red fruits for tonight. Hope you’re having a a nice day.

 

Heatwave and roses 🌹

Hello Friends,

I am waiting for Ikea delivery and before I can’t go out during the afternoon 

Because of the TOO  much heat I went in the garden to have a look at the roses.

This is a rose year! Many, many of them! I particularly love my Pierre de  Ronsard

It is really difficult to work  in the house with such a heatwave and we both are very tired.

Fortunately we sleep well with the AC upstairs 

But when I have to go grocery shopping it is difficult. I will go further tomorrow but Lidl  shop opens at half past eight before the other ones and it should be cooler.

We will have thunderstorm as usual and after the heat dome temperatures will go down on Sunday 😮‍💨 hope so!

 I am waiting for cooler weather on Sunday! Not feeling too well. 39 degrees C in some places !
