Tomorrow our two grandsons are arriving for one month.

Grandma is preparing the place! Like squirrel she brings food 😂 

As tomorrow will be the beginning of a 4th heat wave and grandma doesn’t like too much heat.

I hope the too much heat will not be too catastrophic for the forest fires we are having now!

We are watching on tv the news about these very big forest pine fires. We are not the only European country having fires this year, Spain also has big fires at the moment.

 When you go to Disney Paris this is how you feel at the end of the day! 😂 

Well grandma has still a lot to do before tomorrow and she has better go and work!

 Hello friends,

Today, little Maxime is not going to school. Because of the war he is schooling at home. I hope our grandchildren will not have too much stress. Not for the moment but the alerts being very loud they must ask questions. No school until the 8th for the moment…

No more planes for the moment.

Yesterday there has been five alerts and it is a worry for us. We are following the situation from far away. 

Today, it will be raining and I am glad they came yesterday to repair the garage roof which was damaged by hail.

Last night I found the phone number of an arborist to see if I can save my tree.🌳 I ‘ll phone her today. ( thank you Linda for the advice).

I hope everything will settle  one day 

To have a peace of mind back for everyone.

Our grandchildren should come in August???

A relief 😮‍💨!

Hello Friends 

First, our son arrived safely in Dubaï. Emirates 

Used a A380 to bring home about 50 people 

This plane was full when I went to Dubai more than 500 people. They only took home people living in the Emirates.

I just had a message from him saying that life is nearly back to normal for the moment schools are closed until the end of the week.

It was a long day for us and his sister followed his plane in the evening after work and has sent me this just before he has landed.

Two weeks ago a shop owner gave me this four leaves clover 🍀 it is growing  fast and I think it was a good idea!

Yesterday, I did some cooking while watching the news on  TV. I cooked carrots and cumin soup, endive soup, apple sauce, pear compote and date loaf! I kept busy all day.

I slept well after our son’s landing.  

Today I begin a craft I saw on internet. I have plenty of vintage lace that I must use. I will have to iron the lace saw in place and decorate at the end with bits and pieces.

I want to thank you for your support yesterday.

I am glad that my grandsons have their father safely back.

Here, the sun is shining and  signs of Spring are arriving quickly. Flowers, trees and birds building their nests…

Today I can breathe better, but the situation stays worrisome.

 

A sunny day and pizza day!

It’s a nice sunny Autumn day today and this evening it is pizza for supper. My husband every Friday order a pizza and take it on his way home.

This afternoon as it is bank holiday in Dubaï I had my two little boys on Skype! Max is starting school only 3 hours a day during the first month to get used to it. They were dancing and running in the house the weather being too hot.

I did some housework this morning and guess what… watercolour this afternoon after their call!

Tomorrow  we will pay a visit to one of my favourite clothe shop to get some new autumn clothes. The lady from the shop makes live videos each week and I am following her. I saw some interesting clothes this week and I am going to see. ( I am on a diet to get my blood pressure down and at the moment loosing some weight and begin to need new clothes!)

Hello Septembre !

I am glad to be in September, because the temperature is much better for me ( i don’t like heat) finish the cold ssalads… it’s time to cook winter dishes!

In my monthly magazine I find a recipe of chestnut 🌰 cookies. This morning I drove to the supermarket to get chestnut flour ( gluten free) I am not gluten free free but I also use rice flour which is a very light flour for baking cookies.

This afternoon I have to cook «  ratatouille » with my new Greek olive oil.

During our son’s stay, he ordered all the Hercules Poirot collection and every evening we watched two of them with him.

Yesterday afternoon I worked on this watercolour I will finish working on it this evening. ( from the book in my previous post)

Today, the French children are going back to school !

I am  having a little rest, before cooking my « Ratatouille »! Another patient gave my husband some vegetables from his garden!

Another long weekend.

Our long weekend. Three days off with a bank holiday.

What did we do?

On Saturday my husband took the dog for a long walk

While I prepared everything before leaving to some of our favourite shops after lunch. I had prepared a quick salad.

I decided to get some more colourful clothes for Summer!

I have mostly navy blue or dark colours in my wardrobe.

( I will show you my purchase in a next post)

We had something to drink and went to another town where my husband bought himself a new Lego box ( a Japanese garden) 😂 

Then on Sunday we decided to to do something inside as the weather was not too good and we did some deep cleaning all afternoon till late.

On Monday we were invited for lunch at our daughter in Rouen.

She has brought me a gift from Vienna a

Christmas decoration that she bought on her cycle trip along the Danube. I love it! It will be very nice on our Christmas tree!

There even are a fork and spoon

 This weekend my husband has built one of his Birthday present our son has sent him the Lego « Trevi fountain » in Rome.

He finished building it at 2 in the morning !

I had news from Dubai 

Our son should be coming end of July until the two first weeks of August. He is organising a long weekend by the sea in Normandy (Honfleur) in a rented house with an indoor swimming pool, this should be nice if the weather is not good!

Till then we’ll have to get everything out of the cabinets and get the toys out and ready to play with maybe buy a swing for the boys…

 Hello Friends!

Before the weekend and market day tomorrow, let me take stock of my parcel situation! Last night I was watching the news and one of the subject was Roissy airport’s customers. They were complaining about the 5000 parcels arriving each day and a lot of delays in their work. I think  a strike will soon take place! And they are rejecting some parcels i don’t see another answer to my question . Mine is perfectly packed, labelled and the custom label was detailed. Nothing wrong with it. This is why! I am waiting for it to be back, but will not send it again for the moment.

Today, is the last day of sun. Tomorrow rain is arriving, so no gardening and a day out! The meals are done for a few days so nothing to do.Mr L is on duty Sunday so I’ll be on my own all day and it will be a rainy day. What shall I do? Some DIY I expect. 

Yesterday, I did some cooking and cut out some butterflies from my Dutch magazine “Daphne’s Diary”

Nothing much today except that the first big parcel for my son and Max’s Birthday arrived yesterday in Dubaï at least it is the more important one and I am glad it arrived on time it was important for me!

Agricultural show.

Hello friends!

On Sunday it was the agricultural show in the country town 12 kms from our home. The best farms animals were presented and this bull ( above) won the price.  He looks very proud of himself! 😂 

This is the Normand breed. They have brown around their eyes like spectacles.🤓 

This one looks surprised??? Why are you taking a picture of me? Very gentle face.

 So cute piglets sleeping together. All farm animals had fresh straw, water and food and have been well treated.

This morning I went to the hair dresser and they have wished me Happy Birthday in advance ( it’s on Saturday)

I had a discount for my Birthday!

My daughter wants to organise a perfume creation learning in Rouen as I had a perfume organ from my son at Christmas. It is in fact difficult to make the good associations between different smells. 

Then I had a quick sandwich and took my dog for a walk.

Now, I have plenty of work to do, but I am sitting outside with Bandit looking at the vegetation before the weather changes to rain on Sunday!

I am lazy! The robot is mowing the lawn in silence, only the numerous sparrows are making noise and I can hear babies sparrows asking for food!

It will be a relaxed day 😂
