A new day, a new week!

Yesterday, as my husband was working in the garden I did the week housework and today it is cooking day!

My son in law is coming to help us in the garden and in the house, depends on the weather! Cutting branches if no rain ☔️ or working on my husband’s computer in case of heavy rain.

So I cooking homemade salmon lasagne and stuffed butternut ( he will have the choice!)

Them “pralines roses cookies 🍪” as I had some pralines left.

 I am trying to improve my health condition to be able to visit my son , daughter in law and Maxime.

I am training on my trade mill and keep busy.

I should go beginning of December but depends on my health. My husband filled the papers for the  handicap card. Last time I travelled I had assistance with a wheelchair and I was very glad to have help.

Better travel with help than stay home!

I will do my best!

Lantern decoration.

Early morning decoration!

As I can’t sleep very well at the moment I get up at 5 or 6 and begin to work.

This is the pumpkin I found! Difficult to find one!

I had a lantern in stock I already decorated it last year for Xmas and change the decor this morning.

I found some decorations at “Action” ( like dollar shop)

I must put some more lights inside for Xmas!
 

Our afternoon out to « Desjardins » garden center!

We went to the vet today for Bandit, we decided with the vet to keep an eye on the problem and see the evolution and decide what to do if it becomes bigger.

For the moment we don’t do anything if it becomes bigger there will be a surgery and then

We will have to analyse it to know what it really is.

So after that, we did not want really

to go home and decided to visit some shops ( already very crowded for Xmas shopping!!)

We did not stay long and went to garden center to get labels for my plants and as they have some home decoration a new desk lamp for my husband.

Then what was there?? ( I know Linda will say it is too early… but I could not resist … and took pictures !)

I wish Maxime was there! All was beautiful ! Lots of decorations and lots of Nutcrackers !!!

This was our visit to « Desjardins »!

And we also went to donate four big boxes to the thrift store.

 

Memories and Bandit to the vet.

 This morning I cooked bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches for my husband. This reminded me my « Au pair » year in England when I had to cook breakfast for the family every morning.

There were three children, one boy and twins and the girl wanted her egg cooked on both sides! I always had problems to turn the egg over and not break the egg yolk ! To make the sandwiches I now know how to do it… I was 18 and it is funny how little things bring back memories!

Last night Bandit came on my lap and I noticed like a spot on his paw, we are taking him to the vet tomorrow because last time I noticed something  like that on my cat the vet said it was nothing serious but if I wanted, to reassure me it will be analysed and three weeks later it was a cancer grade 4. So I am stressed to see what the vet is going to say…keep our fingers crossed, that it is nothing serious.

Pink October!

For pink October I decided to bake “ pink pralines muffins”

The pralines are a speciality from Lyon ( France)

These are almonds  covered with pink cooked sugar.

Four more boxes for the thrift store and some more are coming…this weekend I will sort out the Xmas decorations. It’s time before Xmas 🎄 some can go to other families.

This morning I wanted to practice my stencil with the special paste. I have to practice! ( the different colour is just because one is dry and the other not) the middle door was easy but not the other ones. I need to practice!

I continue to sort out things I have in my craft room

This and that…

 Autumn 🍂 is my favourite season and I like to invent new recipes with vegetables and fruits.

Last night I cooked on my Romertopf  turkey with apples, pears, Roscoff onions ( from Brittany which are sweet) and no seeds grapes accompanied with basmati rice.

I just fried the onions in a pan with the fruits and add to the turkey in the Romertopf close it and put it in a non preheated oven then cook for one hour 180 degrees C.

( before I have to soak the two parts of the Romertopf 30 mn in water)

That’s all and it was delicious. ( forgot to take pictures)

Then I baked an apple tart.

The desk renovation is finished( I am glad 😀)

Three coats of paint and three coats of varnish…it took me many hours!

This globe was last year Xmas present and on Saturday we are going to get a new desk lamp!

I continue to pack things to give to the thrift store next Saturday.

This is my big Romertopf ( keeps your oven clean! )

A recipe I did was stuffed butternut with chestnuts, onions, apple, bacon and cheese on top!

And it was a good evening Autumn dish.

These are window stickers and place mats.

Today the shops are « empty » so I decided to buy what I needed. I have a lot of Xmas decorations and no need to buy more.

I also went to get cardboard boxes to give many things to the thrift store on Saturday.

I am going to continue this afternoon, a lot was already  brought to the thrift store last Saturday !

It is cold and I am drinking a hot chocolate.

Today, I needed to go out to the pedicure and I also needed to go out for a distraction.

My husband wanted to change his desk lamp I went to see if I find it in the nearby shop. Instead of finding it, I saw the Christmas decorations ready for the Holidays.

I looked at all the decorations, but it was a cacophony of Xmas carols with the different fathers Christmases and so on…

It is new for us to have Xmas crackers. I usually got the from Dubai or England.
