Dear plumber!

Hello Friends,

Yesterday, I painted my clay stars and gingerbreads

And I started the decoration of the stair railing 

 Last night I wanted to take a shower, but… the tap 🚰 came off broken! So the water was dripping and I had to cut the water and call the plumber who should come today. No need to tell you that during a weekend it will cost us quite a LOT!

I am expecting the plumber… with the hope he’ll come!

Xmas Spirit.

Last year I had white amaryllis, but this time it is red( should have been white and pink…)

This morning I continue to sort out all the decoration pieces I have in order to sell and clear the house!

Two chandeliers with tassels I have painted long ago.

It must be hanged  to see it well.

I did not decorate my tree yet, but as it is a real one I lower the temperature and spray it with water and i can smell the forest 😆 

These are some decorations I started to install 

 Today, we are having a sunny and cold weather but a nice winter day!

This afternoon I have some cooking and baking to do . This morning I prepared the items I am going to bring to my shop tomorrow morning as I have sold again yesterday! We will see tonight!

As I can’t sleep very well at the moment I get up at 5 or 6 and begin to work.

This is the pumpkin I found! Difficult to find one!

I had a lantern in stock I already decorated it last year for Xmas and change the decor this morning.

I found some decorations at “Action” ( like dollar shop)

I must put some more lights inside for Xmas!
 

Craft houses 🏘️

 Yesterday, I went to “Action”  and found these DIY craft houses from the Netherlands.

Last night I began to make them for this coming Xmas.

It is early, but it will be done in advance and I have to find lights to go inside. I have still got some more to make !

Next week, I will start to work on the desk I am going to customise.

Today, it is 12 degrees C and the sun shines! 

Christmas spirit!

 Hello Friends,

Today, the weather was not too bad this morning and awful this afternoon! Rain and heavy wind.

I went out this morning to begin my Xmas food shopping, while the shops were not too crowded.

This afternoon, I am choosing which Christmas biscuits I am going to bake with a cup of hot chocolate and a pine scented candle.

Parcels are being delivered and one of the room is nearly full!

My son sends his Xmas presents by mail before he arrives by plane.

As  my children have both new cats I went to get something for their pets.

I am now in the Christmas spirit!

There won’t be a lockdown, but we must be very careful during this festive time.

This year it is all white. 

I am going to prepare my gingerbread dough

To make my gingerbread men, I  will put one in each plate, on my Xmas table!

A rainy day.

 Hello Friends,

Today, Sunday it’s raining. It’s the day to stay inside!

I finished my Xmas decoration and will start baking cookies. I have done my Christmas shopping and bought our children Xmas presents.

I do my shopping early in the morning , so the shops are not crowded. The virus is very active at the moment and the hospitals are crowded again.

But, I have a good news! This morning , my son has sent me a message to tell me, that I will be the grandmother of a baby Boy!

Preparing “Noel”

 Hello Friends,

I have a busy life at the moment and try to do my Xmas decoration.

All the bulbs are planted for Spring, I had a first answer of a retirement home for my mother.

We have been working hard to empty her flat and cleaned it.

This weekend, we must take a break and have a rest, before my son arrives from Dubai.

Growing numbers of people having the virus,

Mr L is working hard with many patients a day, it is still a sad time we are going through, but I try to be positive and prepare Christmas as usual.

I have put lots of lights in my decoration, the lights of Advent and joy. The weather is very dull , lots of grey skies and rain, but this morning I saw a rainbow.

I still have the decoration of the stairs to finish.

But, today I found some time to begin my Xmas tree!

Now I am thinking of the Xmas menu.

I have to find veggie recipes for my son’s wife.

I decided to cook a fish terrine and some smoked salmon as a starter. I must find the main dish ( we usually have turkey or roasted goose, but this year  I think we will have “ coquilles Saint Jacques “

Scallops, as a dessert a cake with chestnut mousse and “ marrons glaces” with sugar coated chestnuts.

Mini fireplace and Christmas lights.

 

We are having sunny Autumn weather here, but as we have full moon during the night, we are having frost.

I like this weather cold but shiny.

Things are nearly being settled here and it allows me to prepare Christmas. I don’t know if we will be able to gather, but despite of the bad news I decided to continue my decoration.

On Friday I will have my third injection.

My son in Dubai had his sanitary pass yesterday, his wife is still waiting.

Each time he is coming to France we don’t know if they’ll be allowed until the last minute.

This morning, I can see the sparrows, pigeon turtle doves and blackbirds having their breakfast.

We buy one kilo grains each week and we have so many birds in our garden all winter!

On my Xmas shopping time, I found this small fireplace. Bandit ( my dog) was scared of the fire.

 

I have a fireplace, a real one, but i don’t use it at the moment some work must have been done on it before I use it again.
