DIY of the day

As I am staying inside, today being the hottest day of the week 40C in the shade!

Early this morning I have been watering the plants, put some water on the gas barbecue, on Nono the robot!

I saw on the net a Garland made of seed packets. As I had two of them, I decided to make one for my sheshed.

I have been tidying my craft room

My lace jar and my daughter ´so hat 

This is how we live for about 10 days, tonight thunder and we hope some rain then it will be back to hot weather on Sunday!

But tomorrow a relief 25!
 

Downstairs I have an old split, better to go upstairs with the new one! I am going upstairs to finish my book and be cool! Hope we ´l survive! 😆 

Harvest Hot day.

This morning I heard the noise of the combine harvester

arriving in the field to do the harvest.

I was really scared of fire, as yesterday a combine and the field took fire.

They have taken a machine to plough the soil and stop the fire in case of problem.

My hedge is just close to the field and our oil tank is in the ground just close to the h edge. Too scary, I think this autumn I will have the hedge cut.

The dust can be set to fire when it’s too hot.

This is we’re my oil tank is and it’s close to the house.

This is the noisy morning! 

This morning I did the cleaning, washing...like a Monday ( when they had finished the harvest)

I feel better today despite the rising heat , now it is 36C outside and 25 inside. I manage to to keep the house cool 😎 thanks to the new windows and doors! By the end of the we may have thunder !

This afternoon I am relaxing  in a quite home watching Hercule Poirot and reading.

Baking a star ⭐️ ⭐️ 💫

This Sunday morning before it was Too Hot, I went to collect the rhubarb in the garden to bake some new rhubarb muffin streusel once more. But this time I baked them bigger and in star shapes.

There is not much to talk about, except that we
  Stay inside because of the heat, it is nearly 9 pm and still 30C.We had 33 this afternoon , but the worse is going to come tomorrow and Tuesday 40 C, for the moment I manage to have 25 C in the house but I am not feeling well and have head aches. Tomorow I will stay upstairs reading with the air conditioner on .

I received new photos from Maxime this morning, he is growing very quickly !

 ( I hope my blog problems will be solved in August when my son comes, and that I will be able to comment  on blogs again.)

Where are the green prairies of Normandy ?

This is a  cookie bucket  and butter dish I keep, they are from England. I love these little thatched houses!

 This morning before the weekend, I did some cleaning 🧹 in the 🏠 house, cleaning the floors, making a lot of yogurts , plain one and strawberry 🍓 ones.

Then I cleaned the toys I found yesterday with washing liquid and white vinegar. They are like new! I have to put new batteries in one of them. I am quite pleased with them! And they are very shiny.

Then I went in the garden to have a look at what the heat did to the plants and lawn.

We water every evening…

No hemerocallis flowers and nearly burnt

The farmer did not do the harvest yet. Last time they came with the combine they have cut a large path to prevent harvest fire. We have a lot at the moment because of the heat, the dust catches fire.

The rose bush are suffering a lot .

This afternoon I am watching Hercule Poirot and I am going to finish reading my book.

On Monday and Tuesday it will be 40 C degrees again so tomorrow I will do the shopping for the week and stay inside. I hope we will be back to normal soon.

Today’s bargain!

Today the weather is a bit less hot and we went to get toys and bottle steriliser for baby bottles. It was in the town next to us. The family was moving and wanted to get rid of many things so I had the whole lot for 6 euros on a second hand site. This afternoon I will clean everything ready to use.

 We’ve watched the military parade this morning  on tv on National day and now relaxing inside Mr L is watching «  le Tour de France » 🇫🇷 ( bicycle compétition during 3 weeks)

This year the start was in Denmark.

It is a bank holiday and we are having a rest!

July 14th our National day

  Yesterday morning early before the high heat I went to give water to the birds and a wasp 🐝 was going to get drowned so I managed to get her out of the water.

This morning I went to renew the water, but this time I put it full so that it will be easier for insects to drink … and while I was pouring the water she came beside me and managed to drink fresh water. She was waiting for me!  She is drinking a lot.

At one o’clock it is 31C and 25 inside. We only use the air conditioner at night and use a ventilator downstairs during the day.

We water the garden at night but the vegetation suffers a lot. Today we should have 33C and this weekend 40C! The lawn is all burned and we have fires in some fields, my house being in the middle of fields I am very scared!

Tomorrow is our National day, July the 14th, we usually have fireworks, but due to the heat and fires most of them are cancelled.

But this time no rain for the military parade, but they will be hot tomorrow!

I found a three in one baby and child bed.

A cradle on top and can be changed in a child bed,

Changing table. A folding bed to take when we  will go in the hotel with the whole family on the coast.
