We were lucky to enjoy the view of the sea, but glad to see an old sailing boat. This place is called “ Villedieu-les-Poêles “
They are famous for manufacturing bells.
The bells of our churches here in Normandy.
This district (département) called La Manche is on our way to Brittany.
They are also famous for their copper industry.
I took this picture through a shop window, the shop Bering closed on Sunday.
This is a thatched house typically from Brittany.
This is ours in Normandy.
I hope you enjoy this new coming week!
What lovely scenes from your travels through Brittany and Normandy. Mont Saint Michel is a place I would like to visit one day. Thatched roofs are so picturesque - I like the Normandy ones with iris plants growing at the top. Have a good week, Catherine.
RépondreSupprimerI wonder, after seeing the roofs in Brittany vs Normandy, if Brittany gets more snow or rain? I love both styles of thatched roofs. Thank you for sharing your travels. What amazing shops and foundries there.
RépondreSupprimerOh my goodness! Thank you for showing a full shot of your house. What an historic old classic it is.
RépondreSupprimerLovely pictures of the sea, the rocks, and especially the thatched houses. I don't imagine there are many thatchers around any more.
