The day 39 years ago!

Early this morning, we went to get the Birthday cake I have ordered. I’ve had a croissant 🥐 and I bought some «  mignardises »

These are the mignardises I bought for the coffee.

Well! This will be « the » day replacing my Christmas in bed with Covid for the third time at Christmas !!!!

The croissant we ate.

Then on our way we stopped at a little country church to put a candle for our future second grandson whose birth is due beginning of March .

Before we left this morning the table was laid!

Happy Birthday 🎂 to my daughter Maud ( Maud is Madeleine) already 39 years! We love ❤️ you!
 

A new week and a recipe.

Hello Friends 

Today, I have an appointment to the clinic and the taxi is coming at 1PM to go to Rouen again.

Yesterday, I baked some « financiers ». and here is the recipe I used: 

Preheat oven th 6-7   200 degrees C

150gr sugar

130 gr butter

80gr almond powder

50gr flour

3egg whites

Mix the flour, almond powder, sugar 

Melt the butter until it has a hazelnut colour «  we call it beurre noisette » slightly brown.

Leave the butter to cool and then add it to the dry ingredients.

Beat the egg whites and add them  softly to all the ingredients .

 

Pour in small cake tins and bake for 15 mn  keeping an eye on them, they must get a golden colour. The time depends on the cakes sizes. Makes about eleven cakes. 

They were very good! Mr L ate most of them! I had no time to put them in a box!

My daughter and her husband are still in Costa Rica 

They are coming back after two weeks on Friday.

They have seen lots of animals in the different National Parks .

Yesterday, I could not have my Skype time with Maxime, unfortunately his teeth are coming out and he was not feeling well ( he will have six teeth and 11 months, going soon to the nursery while his mum is working.

Resting and baking.

Today, as must rest for one week and don’t do any cleaning 🧹 and make dust, Mr L is doing the cleaning 

While I baked him some “Financiers”.

We will have one with our tea! Maybe two…

A little break to enjoy the day!

Today, day out! Having lunch outside at my favourite restaurant “ les deux zèbres” the two zebras.

I had my lunch outside  .My morning was spent at the hairdresser which helps to be in good spirits!

Then I had a look at the Christmas shops decorations.

 

My favorite bakery, religieuses, éclairs, tartes…

The chocolate shop and deli, specialities from Normandy and France. At the back there is a tea room.

More cakes, we always buy our  cakes, Birthday cakes and Christmas cakes there.

I had creamed chicken with rice and salad and a lemon tart with. Meringue  on top and a coffee!
