Birds and flowers

Yesterday, Mr L cut the grass of the field behind our home and I could find the Snowdrops I had planted when in the past this part of the died was a vegetable and flower garden.

Miniature daffodils. I bought one for my daughter and one for myself.

I got too bird feeders and now the blue tits are coming to eat.
  

They are eating  two buckets of seeds each week!

All the birds from the neighbourhood come to eat!

Birthday dinner. 🎂

This is our daughter 38 th Birthday dinner tonight!

Hello Friends !

This morning, I got up early to make Lemon curd for my lemon 🍋 individual pies. It takes time to stir and when I finished my son called me on Skype. Maxime 

Has a new toy a little xylophone ( as these days he is always hit the table with his spoon) but he was tired and went to bed, did not sleep well last night, so did the parents!

This is a w’view of one of our weeping willow and some blue sky, but this afternoon it is all grey.

 This is the result of my Lemon curd.

I used it in a crust I have already baked and this afternoon I will put meringue on top.

The Birthday cake 🎂 is in the fridge, the menu will be very simple, what they like best is a « Raclette » it is melting cheese on cooked potatoes with different hams.

This is what we will use to melt the cheese. Each one of us will have some kinds of little pans and we use the wood spoon to get the melted cheese down on the potatoes 🥔 !

Of course as Normands we will drink cider 🍺 !

This is a very simple menu, but we will have fun together and will be warm!

Preparing the day…

Yesterday, I hung the cross stitched Robins. I used an embroidery hoop I found at my mother’s.

Hello friends!

I am waiting for my taxi and was looking at  my « Marie Claire idées » magazine and found a recipe I made a long time ago. I learned it in  a British family during my stays in the country. « Bread and Butter pudding » this recipe includes pears 🍐. It should be good!

While waiting, I went for a garden tour and looked at the coming peonies ( this is last year bloom)

The taxi was on time, and I arrived early to find where to go . The ultrasound was very quick and the doctor said my two eyes were VERY similar which is very rare! So I  am  in a way a special person! 😆 ( only because of my eyes!! 👀 i did not know about that!)

Then I lost a lot of time to do my admission, a lot of time…so I had to pay extra for the taxi.

Next week I start again to go and see the anesthetist 

Then Mr L is coming with me on the surgery day .

All is on the way!…

What shall I cook for dinner?

 Last evening I did not have much left in the fridge, but eggs , grated cheese and carrots. Mr L loves cheese soufflé, so I decided to make one and I had found a carrot burger recipe in a Daphne’s dairy magazine, so I made these burgers. It’s made of grated carrots , oatmeal, a little bit of flour, 2 eggs and ground cumin. I added currants and cooked in a pan with olive oil. 

It’s a good veggie recipe.

Today, I must phone my taxi to see if all is correct for tomorrow ( going to the clinic in Rouen for my eye ultrasound ) then go shopping for my daughter’s Birthday meal. Maud  is 38  Today and the meal will be on Saturday evening. Already 38 ! Time flies quickly!

So I will be busy the next coming days and I wish you a nice weekend .

Easter tags and stamping

This morning I decided to start decorating Easter tags, I use vintage school stamps we used  to have in our colouring books at school. I got them in a garage sell some years ago. It always remind me of my school years.

I am also preparing Maxime’s Birthday on April 18th.

I must prepare in advance in order to send the presents to Dubaï on time. ( the post being slaw! And send my parcel some time to the wrong place!)

I took some stickers from an old “Daphne’s diary” 2018.

I did not get the new one yet.

 

We bought a story telling box in french, so Maxime could listen to french language, as he is  used    To English language.

And a Mickey Mouse soft toy. The problem is in a 7 kl box there is not enough space so I have to take the boxes out and protect all the item well.
