Sunny but always cold.

 Today it is sunny and the snow is melting.

I am not doing much but resting. This morning my son has sent me the ultra sound of their second baby.

I am glad to see my future second grandson as I won’t be able to go to Dubai for his birth , beginning of March. He should be born by the 8th my son’s Birthday. For the moment everything goes well and my DIL should not have a second Ceasarean this time.

It is 3 degrees outside and I will put the heater up

Staying seated I feel cold.

Waiting for better days.

I had to put stickers on the windows because birds kill themselves banging on the windows. We feed them and have a lot!

 Last night it has been snowing a little but the problem is the ice on the roads, I am glad I don’t have to go out.

Next week is the week of all my medical appointments 

The anesthetist appointment on Tuesday, I booked a taxi to go to Rouen and the next day an Mir but it is not very far. Then on the 25th day at the clinic, my husband will be there all day. I must have a coloscopy.

The MRI is for my back spine another problem after my surgery 3 years ago. It is very, very painful and impact my legs. I am anxious about my back in case another schwannome is back on my spine cord.( benign tumor but it paralyses your legs.

Last year’s end was with covid and the new year with more health problems.

I soon will have to do a blog pause and  prepare everything. The nurse is coming on Saturday for my blood test. 

But I feel confident and keep busy crafting.

Cold and snow has arrived !

Yesterday, they said on the radio that we will have snow… but sometimes nothing happens !

But early this morning there was a different light in our bedroom, I watched by the window and this time it was true! We have snow ( but not for Xmas)

I have an appointment this afternoon that I can cancel because I have a big slope to go down and one to go up through the forest and I don’t want to get stuck or slide on the ice. ( here when you have one or two centimetres of snow the country is paralysed ! I already heard that there was no school buses and problems with trains…

My husband is gone to work but has a big slope to go and I hope no lorry will be stuck and paralyse the traffic.

The sky is all grey and we say it is waiting for some other snow.

Better stay cosy inside!

 Hello Friends,

Today is Epiphany and we will buy a « galette des rois » we will go to the patisserie and choose our Galette.

Usually it is an almond filling «  frangipane » but here in Normandy we can find apple ones.

In the old days there was a  bean inside it and now it is a little charm, each patisserie choose its own charms and some people are collecting them.

When you find the charm you are the king or the queen and you have to choose you queen or your king and you got a gold paper crown!

The problem is that it last the whole month of January and eating a lot of Galettes is very fattening 😆 !

For my part I ´d rather like the apple one and only two of them.

 Hello Friends,

Here it is still raining, but next week we will have very cold weather coming from the north. In Sweden, Denmark, Norway … they have lot of snow and -43 degrees Celsius ! Next week we will have cold and wind and we will feel -12 C. Better stay inside .

Two days ago, I went to the clinic for a visit to a specialist. I will have to go on January the 25th and stay the day there but before I have a visit with the anesthetist, before I have an appointment for a MRI

( new problems with my back) this is not a good end and start of year, but I feel confident it will be better soon and I will be able to visit my son in Dubai.

Well, nothing much happen here except the dentist yesterday and taking painkillers.

I hope to be able to go out this weekend. Here the private sales have began and we need to change some items in the house, it will be a good opportunity. If I am not too bad and if I can walk…

A stormy day.

This is my husband cleaning bucket 🪣! His new hobby!

My new craft, before preparing my bag, in case I have to stay at the clinic.

 Today, nothing much happen here, except the bad weather and the absence of natural light.

On Saturday my husband wanted to go to the book  shop and buy some books about house cleaning! In fact I am watching a tv program called «  the cleaners » they are four and have three days to clean and de clutter their very dirty homes.  They give advices and make their own cleaning products. SO, he reads his books, takes some notes and then start the cleaning !

What a nice idea! After 40 years of cleaning.

He says it’s a new hobby and enjoy 😊 it!

They were smiling at the bookshop when he asked for the cleaner’s book!

His new year buy will be a new vacuum cleaner!

He must find the special one 😂 and is reorganising everything ( I can’t find anything in the house…)

To reassure you our house is 🧽 clean! 

Tomorrow I have an appointment to the clinic to see the specialist and the next day an appointment to the dentist 

If they don’t keep me at the clinic, we will see.

Baking and crafting.

Hello Friends,

We had a quiet evening and a busy morning at home.

Yesterday, for our supper I baked Yorkshire pudding to eat with some beef. It was nice to eat with the gravy.

This morning I received a picture from little Maxime

And I had a chat on Skype this afternoon.

It was a long time since I baked Yorkshire pudding 

And they did well in the oven!

Last week I made two scrapbooking with only three envelopes each. This makes a little folder with pockets  embellishments and tags.

It can make nice Birthday cards.
