New purchases

Hello friends!

First let me show you the sandals I found yesterday to wear with many different clothes and with my polka dot dress.

New pink rose bush I decided to put pink, different blue and white in the garden.

This is the rose bush at one corner of the house that is starting to bloom, many roses to come!

 This is the front door. Next weekend we are going to clean the terrace! A big job

Today, I must really go to have my hair cut before the big rush of the week! Move the furniture before they clean the chimney and install the wood stove and next the cleaning 🧽! I think I will have a lot of cleaning 

Then the installation of an AC downstairs a little later. I had to order wood for a delivery, boiler cleaning and our other AC cleaning. all will be done in May and June before the firm’s holiday.( nothing is working here in August!) more to come in September. I always have to organise before the holidays and rush in September. So everything will be done!

It is always cold but from Thursday the temperature will increase and we will suddenly have 30 degrees C for the weekend about 20 degrees difference.

News from our grandchildren. They are back to school, but for how long?

We prepare their arrival this summer but we are not sure they can come? This makes a lot of worries!

New purchase in my dressing and new peonies.

Hello friends!

I was waiting for my yellow peonies to bloom 

And with a little bit of sun 🌞 it’s done! It will have about 10 flowers this year.

Friday I cut some of my rhubarb and cooked it to eat with pork meat. We first had this dish in the Netherlands and it’s very good.

On Saturday we also did some photos to renew  our passports.  It was a great time! We laughed a lot but it’s scary to see how old we  now are 😂 

We had great fun!

During the weekend we’ve walked 10 kilometres!

Yesterday I told you we did some Spring shopping yesterday. I had a voucher of 150 € in my favorite Italian outlet so we drove to the town Saturday  morning.

I found navy blue linen dresses ( my favorite!)

 Well now I am better equipped for Spring and Summer!

Hello Friends!

 This weekend has been busy. We had our daughter and husband Saturday evening and had a Birthday supper for our SIL, then they stayed for the night had breakfast before the beginning of the race.

Our daughter did better than last year and 12 of her friends  have participated . After the race she had a shower and they went to have a brunch together in a restaurant.

On Saturday we decided to to go out to my friend shop

And I found this granny square cardigan to wear with my navy blue linen dress.

This week will be a busy one as I have many appointments. I am anticipating the problems that we are going to have to get gasoline and oil for our  boiler.

I am also preparing in case our son and family arrive these coming days or weeks.

We decided that we are not going out anymore during the weekend for the moment we will continue our house cleaning and tidying and then clean the garden instead!

I hope we “ALL” have better days!

This and that on a Monday

Hello Friends!

It is pretty cold here! We are waiting some snow by Thursday until … next week.

I am glad my hairdresser’s appointment is tomorrow as it is difficult here to drive on snowy roads and climbing the hills in the forest.

We have been working all afternoon on our “Orient express “ puzzle a very hard one.

On Saturday it was the private sales and I found a skirt and top from last spring and I can use it during my stay.

I also found some bags easy to carry when you have a stick in one hand. Now I have to phone Emirates to have assistance during the travel. So I have a lot to organise before leaving . 

Yesterday, we had our son on Skype and he told us he was leaving on Saturday for a photo trip to Antarctica!

This worries me a lot! But I have to cope with it I expect…his trip will be long and he will have to go to Sao Polo and take three different planes and then go on a big sailing boat for a week. I know he will take beautiful drone pictures and that he will have internet but I will worry like mother’s do!

 We won’t be doing much on New Year’s Eve but we usually make our new project decisions on the 1rst!

So we will see???

As I have many appointments in January and prepare the house and food for my husband before I leave  I’ll be back sometimes before my trip and then when I arrive in Dubai.

( and at the moment I have some problems with blogger??)

My favourite book.

Hello Friends!

 Yesterday the weather was not too bad so as usual we went to our favourite little town of Louviers.

We first went to our favourite big book shop because last week I had seen the book in English “Girl with a pearl earring” from Tracy Chevalier.

I have already read it in French I have the DVD but it’s the 20th anniversary of the edition. I have read most of her books, all of her books! But it is different to read a book in the original version.

I started it this morning before getting up.

Her father was a tile maker and this reminded me of the two tiles I had bought in the Netherlands in an antique shop.

Unfortunately I broke one and tried to mend it.

These are the two tiles. I love the intense blue.

On our shopping errands I found a new coat and in the same shop found this brooch.

I associated it with the new snood I have just knitted 

 I am changing size and change most of my wardrobe.

Today the weather is cold but we have sun 🌞 I have opened all the windows! Mr L is in the garden cutting branches fallen on the ground during the storm.

It will be a quiet Sunday.

 This is the colour of our squirrels 🐿️ here. In England I remember they were gray.

What kind of squirrels do you have in your country?

I am scared of snakes and bats and last night when we came home the lights of the car disturbed the bat that is living under an outside part of the house and she flew just above our car! I rushed to the house door!

Last year it came in the house.

What kind of animal are you scared of? 

Today, I continue my packing  it is difficult as we will have, rain, wind, warmth and cold  😂! What to choose?  A little of each and  raincoat  and umbrella I expect! And you know you’re aging when your médecine bag grows bigger in your luggage 😂!

Last night I saw this jacket on the shop facebook live and I made a reservation to the lady and I will go and get it this week.
