Hello Friends!

Today I was not very inspired but my son sends me pictures everyday from  their stay in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 

And when I saw the lighthouse picture I thought it was the one we’ve slept in when going through Scotland together.

The pictures were taken by his drone and i thought I could share them with you. The first one with the sun is my best one! Beautiful Nature!

The second one looks like the one on my scrapbooking.

I have stickers on some windows but not on all!

 Hello friends!

Yesterday I told you about sparrows banging in the  windows. I have raised the white flag ! 😂 about thirty sparrows from the nest we are having above our window shutters were eating and flying outside. Now they are on the ground looking at my white flag but no more banging on the windows . One problem solve, another one appears!

Bandit our dog has serious digestive problems and I have an appointment to the vet tomorrow afternoon. He is not at all well! We will see tomorrow what the vet says.

On Friday our son will fly from Dubai to Edinburgh with his family for Autumn break. I think this will be quite a challenge with the two kids. I drove twice on the left in England once with my French car and a manual car and once with a rented automatic car . I landed in Inverness got the car ( never drove an automatic before) it was mid day and I arrived direct on the Inverness ring ! No choice I had to go!

( it was in 2007 my son was 18 just before he went to university. The pictures are taken from a little book my daughter had ordered for us two)

On Skye island Hebrides. We had a wonderful breakfast!

Now my son is approaching 40 and has two boys!

We had a lovely time together!

The round abouts  are very easy but the crossings are very difficult at the beginning and in the evening when you are tired. It was difficult for my brain used to drive on the right!

At the beginning I was driving slowly with an English car so people did not understand why and were not very friendly ( only the first kms) then when we arrived at our first B&B with my son I asked the landlady a piece of paper and a pen. I made myself a placard to put on the back window of the car with:”Beware French driver!”and after that I had no problems only smiles! 😂 then the following days I drove 2000 kms at the Scottish speed on the narrow lanes!

News from our daughter: she says she is improving so it’s reassuring!

Finally yesterday I did not read but knitted. During Autumn and winter I like to knit and do some crochet 🧶 I make scarves, blankets and give them associations. So I am starting by a new scarf for myself and then continuing for others.

A beautiful place.

For a few days I am not feeling very well. Yesterday, I had to stay in bed not feeling well at all.

All my projects are stopped.

My husband is doing the shopping and this afternoon I could stay in my recliner.

As I told you my son was in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and his on his way to Iceland  🇮🇸 now and then to Greenland 🇬🇱 

And then will visit us on his way back ,Maxime and his mother have the visit of Maxime’s second grandma.

When my son was 17 we did a trip to Scotland together

Before he went to university, we have good souvenirs together.

I went twice to Scotland and I love this place very much, I hope to feel better soon to go on a trip in September, we will see the result of the blood test tonight.

He is now in the plane going to Iceland!

Here the weather is grey and rainy 19 degrees, as I am staying cosy inside.

 

Scottish trip and shortbreads.

Hello Friends ! 

 Today, I decided to bake Scottish Shortbreads.

I haven’t baked them for a long time.I like when there is a nice baking cookie smell in the house!

I made them in a round shape and stamped them with »Biscuits Maison » «  home made cookies »

This is a vintage big morning coffee and milk cup.

I like the flowers on it, makes me think of Spring and Summer!

Nice Dausies

 

I think it must be dating back to the 50’s it is numbered and comes from the Digiin fabric.

I also love it’s soft colours.

Last night I had a look at the sky, they said on tv that we could see Aurora Borealis but could not see anything. We had to look north towards the North Pole 

It’s a rare phenomenon coming from the pole which could be seen in North of France, but best in Scotland.

  Making my Shortbreads made me think of my trip in the Highlands!

I went twice to Scotland and the last time was a mother and son trip, before he went to live in Dubaï.

We rented a car and went in small hotels, castles. Lighthouse and B&Bs. I drove 2000kms, we started from Inverness and went all round the Highlands.

I had not driven on the left side for long and it takes time for your brain to adapt, but they drive very quickly and the people did not understand why in a Scottish car I was not driving so fast and they  became nervous behind my car! So the next day, I decided to make a placard and stick it at the back window, saying. “Beware french driver!” And then all the drivers became very friendly and took care behind my car! ( they surely were scared! 😆)

Afterwards I drove as fast as the others after two days!

We also went on the Hebrides to a distillery.

My daughter has ordered this little book made with our pictures for us.

We went on Loch Ness with a small glass of Wisky

And visited a distillery. We had fun together!

He just climbed up the mountain. It was in the “ Munros”  Highlands mountains and he was very pleased! We had a nice trip and I am glad we did it because for 14 years now I can see him only twice a year.
