Building a paper craft mobile for the children room.

I have stickers on some windows but not on all!

 Hello friends!

Yesterday I told you about sparrows banging in the  windows. I have raised the white flag ! 😂 about thirty sparrows from the nest we are having above our window shutters were eating and flying outside. Now they are on the ground looking at my white flag but no more banging on the windows . One problem solve, another one appears!

Bandit our dog has serious digestive problems and I have an appointment to the vet tomorrow afternoon. He is not at all well! We will see tomorrow what the vet says.

On Friday our son will fly from Dubai to Edinburgh with his family for Autumn break. I think this will be quite a challenge with the two kids. I drove twice on the left in England once with my French car and a manual car and once with a rented automatic car . I landed in Inverness got the car ( never drove an automatic before) it was mid day and I arrived direct on the Inverness ring ! No choice I had to go!

( it was in 2007 my son was 18 just before he went to university. The pictures are taken from a little book my daughter had ordered for us two)

On Skye island Hebrides. We had a wonderful breakfast!

Now my son is approaching 40 and has two boys!

We had a lovely time together!

The round abouts  are very easy but the crossings are very difficult at the beginning and in the evening when you are tired. It was difficult for my brain used to drive on the right!

At the beginning I was driving slowly with an English car so people did not understand why and were not very friendly ( only the first kms) then when we arrived at our first B&B with my son I asked the landlady a piece of paper and a pen. I made myself a placard to put on the back window of the car with:”Beware French driver!”and after that I had no problems only smiles! 😂 then the following days I drove 2000 kms at the Scottish speed on the narrow lanes!

News from our daughter: she says she is improving so it’s reassuring!

Finally yesterday I did not read but knitted. During Autumn and winter I like to knit and do some crochet 🧶 I make scarves, blankets and give them associations. So I am starting by a new scarf for myself and then continuing for others.

This morning while cleaning 🧹 I found these sock, toy helmet and water gun. Remind me of our grandchildren!

Nearly three weeks they left…

This is a gift of a hand embroidered table cloth that fitted exactly my round table.

I did some paper craft this morning tried but not satisfied 

This one I did last year

I did not remember  that I started this one.

Today I must finish my cooking , cook some zucchini for my Ratatouille and peppers 🫑 then add the tomatoes and cook the eggplants all with onions garlic and Provence mixed herbs. I will bake more chestnuts cookies to put in the freezer and then  relax ☺️.

Our daughter will be leaving by the end of the week, she and her husband are going to the Alps and do the Mount Blanc tour for 10 days and our son will fly for Monaco on a business trip ( but big flooding in the south of France and general strike ) and he should fly to Paris… I hope the planes and trains will work??

So, it is a bit stressing 😣 and as a mother  I will have to relax 🧘‍♀️!

Somebody asked asked asked me for the chestnuts  cookies recipe.

So here it is:

 115gr half salted butter 

80gr soft brown sugar

65gr white blond sugar cane

120gr wheat flour

60gr chestnuts flour

2gr baking soda

1egg

Pieces of cooked chestnuts. 

Cut butter into small pieces mix with the 2 sugars add eggs and 2 flours until smooth ( I used a food processor)

Divide into 8 balls ( I did 10)

Put them on a baking tray covered tray covered with a baking sheet. Insert chestnut pieces into the balls. 

Bake for about 10 minutes oven 180 degrees Celsius ( electric oven)

A quiet Autumn day.

Hello Friends,

Watching Miss Marple and doing paper crafts at the same time. This morning I made orange and Whisky jam.

And this afternoon I prepared the jam jars still got some label to print.

I cut a lot of paper crafts to hang in the boys room.

Look at what I found to put in Santa’s letter box!

I also got my favourite white Amaryllis 

Orange jam!( on top. Organic ones)

 And finally one of the chocolate muffins I baked yesterday.

I am feeling better with the treatment for the moment, but rest a lot before the rush. Tomorrow I’ll try to go and order the food for Christmas Eve and day. It is time!

The Xmas tree has not been delivered yet! Hope it arrives very soon!!

Paper cabinet of curiosities

 Hello friends,

Some time ago, I found this book «  cabinet de curiosités « 

I began to cut and to assemble the pieces of paper and I did not know what to do with them, so I took cardboard shoe boxes, painted them black and displayed my découpage in them.

I have some more left to assemble.

The scarabée and dragonfly, were part of my daughter Xmas present sand I just made them yesterday. Not easy to make!

For my last Birthday, my son has sent me these books about «  Cabinet of curiosities ». There is a shop in Rouen which is a real cabinet of curiosities it’s a very nice shop.

The cabinets curiosities are the ancestors of our museums, born in the 14thC , they were made from extraordinary objects.
