🦅 birds and more birds…

This is a rattan bird cage I found in a thrift store long time ago and that I painted in white. 

It was before  transformed in a lamp.

As I already told you, we are surrounded by birds, mostly sparrows. Four sparrows nests above our windows and second birth of the year. They are fed and have fresh water and this morning I gave them a « Madeleine » ( cakes I have baked )and I saw a mother giving some Madeleine to her child.

Twice this week sparrows came into the house. The first one was a young one and I could catch him and took him outside, the second one went away when I opened a door it always surprises me when they come in the house!

These hearts are from Kelsch a fabric from Alsace( east of France) this fabric dates back to the Middle age and was weaved by the peasants during the winter months.

It is the cousin of the Scottish tartan  but is made of flax and hemp. In the old days they made the distinction between Catholics and Protestants . The Protestants wore red kelsch and Catholics blue one. The tartan was different from one family to another like the tartan from Scotland. The word kelsch comes from Koln ( Cologne in Germany) because of the blue from  they were using at this time .Talking about Cologne ( Kolhn) I love “ l’eau de Cologne” “4711 Kolnisch wasser”especially in Summer.

I glued on it some  silk roses I had .

More birds , but this time fake ones ! One in wood and the big one I made with felted wool.

Autumn and mushrooms.

Hello Friends,

Today, early this morning I had a message on messenger and a picture of the first pregnancy ultrasounds of our future grandchild

I was very happy and it send me back to some good souvenirs.

I am already planning to go and see my son in Dubai this November after the change of windows and boiler.

We are having sun and mild weather here for the week and weekend. I hope to be able to go to the sea this weekend.

.

 This morning as the painter had to leave the wall dry, he did not come, so I did some cleaning.

Tomorrow he is back and starting to paint, I hope it won’t take long as I need my washing machine!

This afternoon I had a rest and  I made these felted wool mushrooms for Autumn!

Tomorrow will be a busy day!

Making a blue tit and rescuing a blue tit...

 

Hello Friends,

Yesterday, I made some little mushrooms in felted wool and today as it is sunny, but cold , I decided to work the door open and I made a felted wool blue tit.

While I was working on the blue tit, I heard a noise...and guess what? There was a blue tit in the kitchen. She was looking for a way out and was at the window.

I rescued her but she was pinching me, but I finally took her out.

She was a tiny blue tit, I think a baby one.

In all our four nests the babies are born.

There is also a thrust with her two babies on our terrace. They are following their mother to get food from her.

Birds are everywhere! But flowers are very late.

Working on a felted wool squirrel

•  Hello Friends,

Today, i have spent all the afternoon working on my felted wool squirrel.

I had more energy today. The nurse came this morning as usual and them I did some house cleaning.

Outside the weather was fine and I could leave the door open and could hear the birds, as I told you they are a lot and very noisy! 

I could also open the windows most of the day, very refreshing!

I hope I will be soon able to go for a walk in the country.

I already did the Robin and next time will be the fox.
