A relaxed weekend by the sea

Hello Friends!

Children and grandchildren are all gone after three weeks and this weekend we decided to have a break at the sea in Dieppe. I went there the week before with the family and we had lunch at a restaurant but my husband was not there, so during our stay we had a lunch there.

This is a view a little further on the coast after Dieppe.

We also relaxed on the beach where you can borrow a book and read by the sea.

Then we had one of our lunch outside, “Good food”

And nice people there!

 I had my favourite sweet! Milk chocolate shell, white chocolate big pearl with vanilla cream inside…SO  Good!

We are now declutterring the house , giving to the thrift store and to a vintage shop who just came this morning to get some items for her shop

Before we prepare our soon coming holidays by the sea in the Netherlands! 🇳🇱

Practicing week!

I must still work on it today and finish it.

 Yesterday afternoon, I made a low fat, low sugar rice pudding 🍮 !  But I have been drawing a nice 😊 cake!

 I am working on on it, it is a December 🎂. One of my Ducht magazine ( Daphne’s diary) has each month a calendar which uses watercolour cakes watercolour. The next one will be October.
Still practicing !

This morning I tried to make some perfume, but it’s quite complicated and I think I need the course in Rouen!

“Choux caramel beurre salé”

This morning while Mr was on duty, I stayed home and decided to bake some”Choux”

I have not made choux for a long time. I started by little   ones and then bigger ones to fill with caramel salted butter cream.

My salted butter cream is a  too brown  but tastes good.

I had to look at the choux in the oven and watch the caramel at the same time and it’s a bit over heated.

Filled with salted butter caramel!

Baking day

Today I made some microwave lemon curd, never done before with my microwave. It’s a nice recipe and very quick one!

10cl lemon juice

3eggs

1soup spoon cornflour 

160 gr sugar

40 gr butter at room temperature 

Mix well and put in the microwave 800 w for1minute and it’s done!

 

I made a yogurt cake with my home made yogurt with blueberries.

Apricot crumble.

This is the ice cream maker I found this morning while food shopping.

The very hot weather is starting today we will have 30 degrees in the north and 40 in the south better go out in the mornings and stay inside in the afternoons!

 Hello Friends

Yesterday, my husband drove me to the hairdresser.

The hairdressers, flower shops and bookshops are now considered as essential shops, so they remained open during the lockdown.

It was nice to see some people and be able to chat a little bit.

Only four people are admitted at the same time in the shop.

I took a quick picture of the church. Strange architecture is’n it?

Looks sa if it was not finished to build!

The place is called Le Neubourg . The biggest market of  the area takes place here.

The first part is dedicated to smallproducers and home grew vegetables, home bred hens, rabbits...

In the other side of the church clothes, wool...

Then fruits, vegetables , fish and meat.

At the end hens, ducks,chicks...

After the hairdresser we went to our favorite shop to get good products that we can’t get from our nearest supermarket.

We also bought lemons from Menton south of France, little babas in lemon cello, raspberry vinegar, olive oil honey herbs for salad and barbecue , Corsica clementine jam.

And then my favorite English cheeses Stilton and Cheddar.

We will try to cook with the barbecue , but today it is nice but windy so we’ll have to eat inside!
