Bruges is a nice place to stay during the weeks, but as the weekend approaches SO many tourists arrive from all over the world! I expect there are cruise boats from Zeebruges.
Today, we had a surprise ! It was the Carnival for youngsters. About 30 carnival floats and throwing sweets to the little ones. A joyous atmosphere !
Bruges is close to the Netherlands’ frontier and we first went there for some time and then stayed in Bruges in a hotel in the town centre so I could walk more easily, but there are so many beautiful places to see that you must walk a lot. It is not the first time we visit the town but it is always a pleasure to discover new spots.
First this morning we went to st Jian Hospital it’s now a museum but was Bruges hospital in Middle Ages until 1987.
This was the ambulance and you can see how it was on the painting i photographed

RépondreSupprimerIt looks like a very nice and interesting trip. And fun that you came over carnival too!
RépondreSupprimerInteresting floats for the Carnival parade. We often see swans around her ( mainly in winter) but we have never seen them on land, always on the water.
RépondreSupprimerSo interesting! I am very surprised that so many patients survived at that time.
