Tall ships 🛳️ meeting soon in Rouen.

 Hello Friends,

Yesterday. Was a sunny day, but today it will be cold and windy ,so no sitting outside in my new recliner 😞.

My husband did quite a lot of work in the garden!
I had my son ans little Maxime on Skype yesterday.
They went to the outdoor sky pool of their residence and Maxime met a friend from the kindergarten.

Next week our son will fly to Florida for his work, Before the pandemic I could see him more when he was going to their office in London
He took the train from London to Paris to visit us for the weekend and then flew back from Paris.

Within two or three weeks there will be the Tall ships meeting in Rouen ( more than 40 Tall ships) but I don’t know if I will be well ent to go. It is every 4 years and it is very crowded and there is a very long walk on the river’s banks. Many traffic jams and I have seen them many times when my parents lived by the river Seine.
We also did a cruise with the children at the end of the meeting from Rouen to Le Havre on a Tall ship.
This is nice for those who live in Rouen to see the daily fireworks and night concert for the youngest.
My daughter lives on the heights of Rouen, so they are going daily.
There are sailors parades through the town and music. If you have the opportunity to come in Rouen it will be «  the place to be »! 😆  8 June to 18 June in Normandy Rouen!
I wish you a nice week!

Summer Armada, Tall ships in Rouen.

In 335 days the Armada ( tall ships) will take place again in Rouen!
When the children were younger and still with us we did a cruise from Rouen to Le Havre all the way down the river Seine and under the bridges on this tall ship «  Mir » it was a beautiful experience and a nice day, something you only do once in your life.

Before I was living in a village by the river Seine and each four years we gathered with our picnic on the river banks to see the tall ships come up or down the river and listen to the sailor’s songs.

This is our favourite the Mexican one.( source net)
The opening bridge in Rouen
We used to go very early with the children to visit the ships before the crowd and get their stamps on a special book.

This one was not in Rouen but I took the picture in Brittany in Saint Malo.

Every evening there is a fire work above the river.

This is the Mexican one « Cuauthemoc »
It is a nice event we enjoy to go each 4 years!
I know the tall ships are going to other countries, I saw some in Bergen( Norway) once  are they going to your country?

Tall ships’ meeting in Normandy

 Hello Friends,

Every four years in Rouen, there is a tall ships meeting.
It last ten days and the next one should be in 2023.
Tall ships from all over the world are gathering in Rouen.
Our favorite is the Mexican one The Guatemoc. The sailors are standing and singing when passing in front of a village along the river Seine.People are gathering all along the river’s banks waiting for the ships to come it depends on the tides to sail because of the sailing under the bridges in order to have enough room for their masts.
The second ship is the Russian one “the Mir” a school ship.
We had the opportunity  to sail on it for a whole day, at the end of the meeting. We went down the river Seine to the sea and went under this bridge.
The second bridge is an opening bridge in Rouen to enable the ships to sail in the harbour.

We can visit the ships and there are big festivals of music at nights and big fireworks each day.
It made good souvenirs for all of us, but especially for my children.
( the last pictures are from the net)

Yesterday, my first drive since September, I went to this village and took pictures of a typical Normand house.

Indian garden from the Chateau!

Hello Friends ! I have just a few minutes peace so I just wanted to show the Indian garden of the castle that we can visit only once a year....
