Today I went to Saint Wandrillés Abbey to pray for all of us and took some pictures for you.

This Abbey is on the side of the river Seine.

There is one more near our home to show you.

Jumieges Abbey visit

 

We are lucky to have many Abbeys in Normandy

Along the river Seine.

This one was destroyed by the Vikings coming up the river to the town of Rouen. Then  it has been rebuilt

By the same vikings  when they’ve settled in Normandy and then destroyed at the French Revolution!

We like to visit the Abbey as they have big parks and they are very romantic ruins and very peaceful places.

In summer lots of people go on the river Seine road to get fruits in the orchards.

What a lovely vintage find!

 I  was looking for a frame in a thrift store I didn’t like the picture and took it off and found this picture at the back of the frame.

It is the farmer’s wife photographed with one of their cows which have certainly won a prize.

I love it! This is a Normand cow.

The « Bol » is a vintage one from the 50’s

And the miniature a typical very rich Normand house 

Which is the replica of The town of Bayeux tourist office.

I collect these bols when I find some.

Little vintage things...

 Hello friends!

Chalk paint post.

This is what I did during the lockdown with chalk paint and jam jars. I use them for my jewellery.

On top of the jars are drawer knobs.

I also use Annie Sloan chalk paint.

The pictures are from my upstairs bathroom the vintage frames are from « Maison du Monde »

This is very simple to make and they are very useful!

I have taken the doors off to have a better perspective.

New Emma Bridgewater mugs and tea pot

 I received the Mr and Mrs Emma Bridgewater new mugs this week! It is to remind us of our wedding ...35 years ago!

The other ones I had them for several years and I always loved them , country style ones.

The tea pot is a big one and it’s useful as the mugs are quite big.

Next time I show you my Emma B tea towel!

Bedroom and vintage toys

 

Today, let me show you my bedroom.

U have got some vintage toys . Here are some teddy bears the two with a hat are from FAO Swartz from New York and the other one is a hand made one from Cornwall if I remember from Polpero.

The quilt is handmade I won it from a quilt exhibition.

The vintage dress is from an antique shop. I found it with some lace I bought and did not know what it was I tried to put the pieces together and saw it was an ancient dress.
