A long day

 

Hello friends,

This will be a long day today. An emirates plane is leaving from Paris and our son is going to the airport and try to go back to Dubai. I think it’s not safe enough to fly with this intense sky activity but the air companies are starting some flights again. This will be a very long day and wait.

Our television is on for the whole day. I will try to do something but it will be difficult.

This morning I have been looking at the garden and birds to relax a little bit but it is difficult.

Our son should be home by midnight.

A Birthday cake and news

Hello Friends 

Yesterday we went to our daughter for lunch and ate her Birthday cake. Her Birthday was end of February but they were away in Denmark so it was a bit late! Already 41! Time flies so quickly ! 

This morning my phone doesn’t want to use google so I had to use my I pad to upload pictures! 

I am watching the news at the same time, the news that are not very good…

Our son has left Geneva and took a train to Paris  waiting for a plane but I think it will be long. The grandchildren don’t notice much fortunately and I expect are happy to be home but the problem is that they can’t go outside.

I left home with winter and now spring is gently arriving.

 After about 40 days heavy rain here this week the sun will be shining. We had our big weeping willow trimmed as you can see at the back  due to the numerous storms and the garage being next to it. The lawn had been cut and now the robot does the job.

This afternoon I must go and have my hair cut I could not go earlier not being well enough. 

Thank you for your visits and I hope that the situation will improve quickly but…

Hello friends,

It’s been a long time since I wrote on my blog… 

I am not feeling well at the moment having various health problems.

Today I had a call from our son who was in Switzerland for a week for his job is blocked there because planes going to Middle East are cancelled.

There are problems in Dubai no school, no nursery and they must stay inside. I am worried for our grandchildren if our son can’t leave Switzerland he will have to travel to France and stay until the airspace is re opened.

There has been a problem in Dubai today and I just heard that missiles are over the town.

There is a big parking under the flat where are my son’s family to go in case of big problem.

I pray for peace and for our grandchildren and their mother who are in Dubai now.

I will be back when I feel better and when I ‘ll have news from our son in Switzerland and our grandchildren in Dubai.

Hello Friends!

Last week I was eating a sandwich in the children’s park with all the Nannie’s and their babies and the tower Burj Kahlifa was just in front of me and I saw something on the tower took my phone and saw the men cleaning the windows! Imagine when the top windows must be cleaned… 

Grandma in a rocket 🚀 at Warner Bros with my son and grandson!  We had fun!

 And the best part of my holiday was Maxime singing 🎵 

I love his little voice. Grandma had to speak English with the boys, they don’t want to speak French!

Hello Friends!

Grandma is back home safe!

The travel was exhausting! The plane is always an A380 the biggest plane which was full more than 500 people on board! 

The assistance was very good at Dubai airport, but there was hardly none in Paris! And they broke my handle suitcase.

I left around midday and was home at 10.30 PM!

The plane landed on time at 7.20 PM but we had a lot of wind and heavy rain on the road  so that we had to reduce speed ( we could hardly see the road) so the journey has been “very”long!

While I was away grandpa did some cleaning, his laundry and grocery shopping. Today I am on my recliner and the washing machine is doing the job for me!!

I am freezing! And put the heater  a bit higher

And I also feel hungry earlier because there was 3 hours difference with France 😂 

I found the orange chocolate I used to get in England when I was a child!

This is the weather in Dubai for this coming week 3 or 4 degrees less than last week

I watched the film but wanted the book in English 

As I must drink a lot of water during the day I found this glass at Warner Bros. Reminds me of my childhood 😂 

 And another gift for Grandpa dates with pistachio.

And some Dubai chocolate! Chocolate with pistachio.

Now I really must rest during the whole week and try to go out this weekend.

At the airport

Hello friends!

I have some time at the airport on the disabled  room.

My son accompanied me by taxi and we had little time to say goodbye somebody came to get me with a wheelchair and off I went!

There is a Costa cafe and I had a sandwich and lemonade.

Before I used to go in the numerous shops but now go to the plane in wheelchair, the airport being so big!

You have to walk a lot ,take the train, lift…

I was used to it many times but not anymore.

It is around 30 degrees here and snowing at home and in Paris it will be such a difference!

Waiting with my country living US / Canada the one I get in France is the English one makes a change!

I will be leaving for a 7.45 hours flight so it will be pretty long and two hours drive from Paris to home.

Good bye Dubaï!

Hello Friends!

This morning I went for a little walk not too far and I took some pictures of my favourite spot to share it with you before I leave. I sat in the shade for a while as the temperature is going up 30C today ( and when I go home it will be minus degrés. This weekend I saw that it will be snowing. That will make a big difference!

The problem is when I ‘ll leave I must wear winter clothes by 30 C! This is the part I don’t like.

I enjoy this place close to the flat and I just wanted to share it with you! Have a nice day!

 

Day at Warner Bros Abu Dhabi.

Hello Friends,

Grandma feels a little better, she was not too well and very tired.

William had fever again and was not well. 

Then we managed to take the children at Warner Bros Abu Dhabi. They enjoyed to talk to Batman & Robin, to Superman too!

Grandma enjoyed some of the attractions with the grandchildren and their parents. That was a long time ago when we were taking our children to Disney Land Paris!

  

They have an annual pass to all Abu Dhabi activities parks

And they enjoy a lot mostly when it is too hot outside during the summer.

They enjoyed the day !

Now grandma’s holidays are soon over and I have to do some shopping for Birthdays and for those who stayed in France. Them l’ll have to pack and  say good bye ( I don’t  know when I will see them again) and go for a 7 and a half hour’s trip! It will be long!

I have enjoyed my stay and having shared three weeks with them I know them better now.

I will see you in France by  now !

This and that…

Hello friends!

Today, I was very tired!  😴  I forgot how it was to have two little ones!( I had two but a long time ago) so today I did not go out and did some housework and cooking.

I cook ratatouille, cauliflower croquettes and potatoes ones. I did some laundry, vacuum, cleaning the kitchen and went to the supermarket downstairs. In the afternoon after the cooking I had a nap.💤 

I did not tidy the toys ( I gave up!)

A hot day!

Hello Friends,

Yesterday grandma was off. Went to have a manucure and pedicure and relax for  a few hours.

Today, I went back to the Mall, because I had a request from Maxime and I had a look around the Fashion avenue storey to get a shirt for dad’s coming Birthday. Yesterday I found mom Birthday presents.

I had a brunch at “le pain quotidien » organic eggs salad & avocado. Orange juice ( so good) plain Greek yogurt and a latte!

This morning when i opened the curtains there was the man cleaning the windows. ( thanks to these people Dubai is very clean they are important people !)

Here is the little mall downstairs with a small supermarket, hairdresser, beauty salon and doctor.

 I took a picture of where we buy our food quickly because I don’t want to take pictures of people.

Today it is 30 degrees C in the shade! So I have been 

 Walking along the walls to have some shade 😂 

Now I am back at one PM waiting for Maxime’s arrival from school and later William.

What will be Grandma doing today?

Well, a typical day here… wake up at 5 or 6 prepare porridge, wake up the children, have coffee and breakfast very quickly. Prepare the children for school and misery.

Mum takes Maxime to school by car or bike ( along the canal) they take William to nursery. Mum is rushing to the gym and daddy as well, while grandma is helping with the kitchen tidy, get the laundry done then prepare herself to go out to get fruit and vegetables from Waitrose ( and she may have a little treat 😜 on her way! 🤫)

The weather forecast here today: 25 C Sun and blue sky. But… before 10 grandma’s favourite weather around 18C!
