View from my window and very little snow!⛄️

View from my window this morning.
Hello Friends!
Today I will “keep calm and carry on” it’s very quiet here during the cold months. You’ll certainly laugh when you’re going to see the amount of snow on my outside table! But it is reassuring to have snow ⛄️ and not 17degrees C  in November! I remember in the past to have a lot of snow especially for Christmas and it was nice going to church on Christmas Eve.

I found this picture on Facebook on the Normandie site. At the moment this is the time and the place for catching scallops on our coast. There is Saint Michel Mount an abbey, the apples for our cider, Normand cows and typical Normand costume. I found it very cute.
A second one  about our coasts with fields, apple trees, lighthouse, Normand houses and cliffs.

This is the big cheddar scone to eat with some soup.
Views of Christmas decorations

Last night I made a butternut soup and found on a blog a big cheddar scone to eat with it. As you can see I tested it… and it’s SO tasty! Then we had grilled salmon and cooked apples 🍎
Now it is 3 degrees C and the sun is shining! I may go out for a little walk. This weekend my husband is on duty on Saturday and we will see what to do on Sunday…
I wish you a nice day.

  1. Even a little snow is snow! I haven't seen it this month. And Christmas, which you wrote about in my wishes and winter tales, is included. For example: Grandma Holle. How do you translate the title of the tale into English? I translated it as best I could and as it sounds in Hungarian translated into English.
My Christmas tree is still simple, with some of the decorations I had as a child. I also have new decorations too, of course.
I love scones with all the flavors.
I'm inside my apartment, and I think I'll stay. It's 4 degrees and cloudy outside. Enjoy your weekend and thank you for visiting my blog! Éva

  3. Hello Catherine,

It certainly feels cold enough for snow here in Budapest but none so far. Your dusting of snowflakes is pretty and lovely to have the cold clear days with sunshine.
Christmas Eve is the time for the Christmas tree here and not before. That is usual in Budapest and we love it that the Christmas tree market will be just a few steps from our front door.
The cheddar cheese scone looks delicious. A perfect partner for soup.

  4. I would love a little snow for Christmas here - but I doubt it will happen. Those shells are unusual and pretty.
Thanks for answering me the other day by the way.
And the cheese scones look good!

  5. We visited a nursery and Christmas shop this morning. This afternoon we both wore ourselves out working outside. Now the sun is going down already and we are on our chairs.

The cheese scone looks delicious! I love anything with cheese. The butternut soup sounds tasty, too.

How pretty and unique the shell pictures are featuring highlights of Normandy. Bon weekend.

  7. Very nice pictures. I like finding such as those on the internet. Inspiring.
The cheese scone also inspires me. I don't like to cook but baking I enjoy ( and eating the results).

  8. I love the big scone! So great to have with soup or even a cuppa. I love this time of year. Our winter starts earlier and we're already into winter here. Really enjoying it though.

In answer to your question about the cranberries, I mash them first and then some get maple mixed in, and other batches are straight berries. Then dry them until desired and store air tight.

If I can be of anymore help, please reach out.
