Today, we should have been to visit a painting exhibition exhibition in Giverny, but as it was warm and very sunny I chose to visit the « Chateau of Miromesnil » were the writer Guy de Maupassant had spent three years near Dieppe on the Normand coast. This castle dates back to the 17 Century.
I love castles and it is always with pleasure that I visit one! I already visited it with our children a long time ago.
The castle is surrounded by by a wide moat full of water in the past.

The two big sort of vases on top right were filled with oil and lit at night to embellish the castle
On the first floor there are five guest rooms.

There is a mix of vegetables and flowers , the garden is surrounded by high brick walls to protect it and keep it warm

The beds were short because they prefer to sleep sitting up rather than lying down ( only dead people were lying down!)

Dear Catherine, the botanical garden and the small chapel immediately caught my attention. The older a chapel or church is, the more I like it.

The sea is beautiful, and I would like to listen to the sound of the waves the most.
