A Shopping morning.

I am ready ! I made my little Christmas cookies bag for my friends !

Hello Friends !

Yesterday was good day and started early by some shopping and posting  Christmas cards then . I went to one of the stores where you find nearly all you need and found little bags to put my home made cookies and some little goodies i bought. Then to the farmer’s shop to get meat, fruit and vegetables ( it’s far from home 12 kms but all is good and fresh direct from farms.

My trolley ( the trolleys are baskets we use in Normandy to collect the apples) going to buy some cheese for my husband «  Neufchâtel » it has an heart ❤️ shape. ( because during the 100 years war between England and and France the girls offered a heart shape cheese to the soldiers ) is it a legend or not???

Then nice madarines from Corsica and some apples from Normandy !

The cheeses from our region. I got the meat for some time and some goodies for Christmas  meals !

This is how I was dressed yesterday. Khaki pull over khaki trousers and brown oversized jacket  herringbone fabric ( funny name we say chevrons in French but here it refers to a fish 🐟 😂!)

A simple marinière that I found two weeks ago ago, but with decorated sleeves !

With ring and earrings I found in the Netherlands.

So, as you can see I am a « little » busy taking my time. In the afternoon I watched a Christmas movie and made endive soup with coconut milk and nutmeg I like it very much. 

Tomorrow will be busy with Sainte Lucie at the Bec Hellouin Abbey and some shopping. The tree will be decorated on Sunday!

Guess what I am watching? Hercule poirot’s Christmas!

 On Saturday we are going to Saint Lucie at the Abbey I have made the reservation. Some Swedish students who are learning in Paris are coming they’ll sing and we will make a proxy in the Abbey then gather inside to have Swedish hot Christmas wine and special buns Lussekatters and the wine is glogg. I think it will be a nice Christmas Advent time!

I am working on this one and I framed some and will show you next time.

I have also baked some new cookies and tomorrow I must get little bags to give our friends. Make tags and tie them ready to give!

This is all for today and I will finish my Hercule Poirot episode in my armchair and relax  ☺️thank you for coming!

Hello Friends!

I finally got my little tree!🌲 

It usually goes up to the ceiling, but as I could not get it delivered and the grandsons are not coming this is a small one waiting to be decorated.

During my shopping I found the little paper tree but you had to buy the three of them I find them simple but pretty.

 

When shopping on Saturday I found these new sneakers 

The pullover I ‘ll wear today the scarf I knitted a pair of jeans and the new sneakers 👟! 

I had one of my homemade yoghurt and now the day can start!

Hello Friends!

Early in the morning I like to lit all the Christmas lights!

The Christmas lights tree is not here yet but this year it will be a smaller one as the grandsons are not coming.

I will go and get it from our garden center.

( more and more flowers to come on my Amaryllis!)

This weekend we did some house cleaning and tidying. 

I had the idea to hang all my necklaces to tidy all the jewellery boxes I had for long.

I forgot about most of them and now can choose from the hooks.

This is the little reading corner in one of the bedrooms 

 All my magazines are gathered in this little corner: country living, Victoria’s magazines…

I am now having my breakfast bread 🥖 butter and coffee. On Saturday when we went to the little shop which 

is also  a B&B so the owner makes delicious jams for the
Called Childhood jam apple, cinnamon and vanilla! 

And coffee! Our new coffee maker is a great trouble for my husband. It cleans itself after each coffee and you have to put a glass underneath… but he forgets and had to run before it cleans itself after each coffee! So drinking coffee ☕️ does you good as you do sport at the same time! 😂 

It’s all for today! I must go out but will wear a mask flu 😷 epidemic is here!

Christmas carols and hot chocolate ☕️

We had our Saturday Christmas Carols  afternoon drinking hot chocolate or hot red spicy wine. There were a lot of cakes, biscuits and chocolates. I brought the lady owner of the shop a little gift and all the Christmas biscuits I baked.

They had great success.

Then we listened to Christmas Carols and chat with people we did not know but it was very friendly, I enjoyed the afternoon!

This is a tiny little  shop with a wood opened fireplace  which was burning. We bought a new cushion a Christmas mug then

Went to the Abbey to pray. From the abbey shop I bought some wax for the furniture and some jam.

It is very small so we went to the abbey and then went back to have a second hot chocolate! Not very good for the diet but good for the brain! 😂( for Mari!)

The blue lamp is beautiful… but very expensive!

 This is the little shop and the couple singing sometimes outside and then by the fireplace. It did not rain fortunately! Only for that day! Rain is starting to again today.

We also had to get a new vacuum cleaner ours is not working anymore, a lot of our devices broke down last month so we have a brand new one specifically for dogs hair our dog a Jack Parson Russell is loosing hair all year round so I have to vacuum all the time, I hope it will do a good job.

In the morning we went back to the concept store and we have to drive through the forest. This is hunting season and animals are scared and wants to escape and what happened is a deer 🦌 just crossed the road in a hurry to escape the guns just in front of our car but as we drive very carefully because of the wild animals we both were safe.

This was our day yesterday I was not too bad and  able to go out and that’s a good thing!

Hello Friends!

Yesterday I baked mince pies for our Christmas 🎄 meeting on Saturday. 

I had the mince meat since last year when our son came for Christmas. It has been travelling from England to Dubai and back to France ! ( not a carbon free mince meat!) 😂 

I made my pastry from my old English  baking book ( from the 80’s) I used half butter and half lard and it is the British touch ! On the net they use butter only but lard makes the difference!

I did my Christmas decoration with traditional colours, but I added a pink ones  on the console for a little touch of fairytale and childhood!  

Last month I should have been to Dubai but i decided to go in January end of January.

( i didn’t tell you but I am not feeling too well for some  months. I’m I having terrible  headaches and troubles with my eyes and I have been waiting long to get better…

I don’t know if you remember but long ago when I was a baby I have been the victim of a car crash and had brain,  eyes damages and cervical vertebra and since my spine cord surgery 

I have a lot of headaches and eyes problems, so December for me will be unfortunately a busy month going to appointments. First the ophthalmologist, then ultrasound sound and MIR the day after Christmas. Anyway, I will be going to visit my son in January and see my grandsons with assistance like I did last time. I have been wanting to see if it was going to be better but now husband doctor’s orders I must do all these annoying things! 16,22, 26 of December.) it is  usually very long to get appointments so December is not too long I have no choice but to go.

It’s not great fun!

 I tasted the mince pies and they have a very good taste, I love mince pies at Christmas !

On another subject. We have a program on tv which is called “ the cleaners” these people are helping to clean and tidy very, very dirty homes. On last Sunday as it was raining I watched an episode of it. I am telling you this because I can hear my husband cleaning the bathroom right now. Each time I watch an episode he is shocked and is cleaning and tiding everything! On Sunday he tidied until late at night! It is very helpful! 😂 ( I must tell you our home is clean and tidy! But he wants it to be perfect!

So he bought their book and clean 🧽! And we finally are both involved in the process…) 🧹 🧼 

Today, I will bake Christmas cookies for our Saturday event. On the picture below there are Italian goodies Panettone we use to have one for breakfast on Christmas Day so good with a strong coffee!☕️
