Very hot weather 🥵

Today, after my appointment to the physiotherapist I decided to go in the « Oison valley » to get some fresh air

Because we are having very high temperatures at the moment some places having 40 degrees Celsius or 104 degrees F. Nearly 50 C in Spain today!

This is a little river winding through the countryside  going to the big river Seine.

This is the smallest town hall of France 🇫🇷 

This was a restaurant we  sometimes used to go  there for an evening meal. It dates back to the 15 th century.

The food was specialities from Normandy and the inside a real museum!

 Well I am staying inside with our air conditioning on.

They have closed the schools too much heat and not adapted to this hot weather !

I am thinking about the people who are in hospital without air conditioning.

The fireplace in homes.

Today, we will see the typical Normand fireplace.

Mine is only 40 years old it is to say a new one, a copy of 

The existing fireplaces in our thatched houses.

At the end of the post I found some photos of antique ones.

They were mostly made with bricks. 

Ours is in between two smaller windows and takes most of one wall.

 The typical houses were dark, because of small windows and lots of wood decoration.

In my living room I have a big oak wooden stair.

In fact typical Normand house  were mostly «  longeres « 

It is to say long houses with no first floor and communicating rooms. Not very easy to live in. 

This is one of the typical house, this one is a thatched house with one first floor. On top of the thatched roof there are iris
