Beginning with a picture from Scotland! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 

(As it is written on our tv “ the abuse of alcohol is not good for your health!”) but a small glass of whisky in Scotland is welcomed! 😂 

Today I finished the house chores and this morning I have read my book, it is nearly the end of the story and I am impatient to know the end!

Then I have stored the clothes in our wardrobe and now l’ll install my brushes… for my watercolour.

The today’s pictures are some pictures from our children I like and wanted to share with you.

My daughter pictures are  from the Alps Mont Blanc and a photo from my son from China I have framed. Some were taken in France, Switzerland and Italy.

One of the group was injured with a broken ankle and had to be evacuated to an hospital in Switzerland by helicopter! 

All the shoes are from the mountain refuge!

They all had to take their shoes before entering.

Last night I had a Skype from our son in Scotland they have been hiking for 4 hours had a pizza in a food truck

Went home and had a nap!💤 and start again and went to see a lighthouse. The four of them are enjoying their holidays but they are soon going home. I may go to visit them soon it will be a challenge so I am exercising and training to be fit enough! I hope so!!!

Hello Friends!

I have been busy these days with house cleaning and sorting out wardrobes.

On Saturday we went out for lunch and did some shopping. We had a coffee on a terrace outside in a Turkish coffee we like to go, their coffee is very good.

The weather was sunny with a blue sky a nice Autumn day. Mr L bought himself a new pair of trousers and a new shirt and I found a new cardigan.

When I stop cleaning I knit myself a scarf in fact a snood.

We als went to the big bookstore and I found a new thriller!

I like the bows on the sleeves of the cardigan.

This picture is from the Cluanie inn in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Our son had a stop there and this is the place we have been before together. A beautiful place surrounded by the mountains very isolated among the Trossachs.

Before there was no electricity but a generator and no modernity, but now my son was a bit disappointed because of the changes! 😂 it was as if we were far from the rest of the world!

 Our two explorers are fine, Max is hiking while Wiliam is on his parents’ back. They are on Skye island breathing fresh air before going back to Dubai on Saturday.

Today, I’ll have a rest, visit blogs and finish my book before beginning another one!

Memories

Building a paper craft mobile for the children room.

I have stickers on some windows but not on all!

 Hello friends!

Yesterday I told you about sparrows banging in the  windows. I have raised the white flag ! 😂 about thirty sparrows from the nest we are having above our window shutters were eating and flying outside. Now they are on the ground looking at my white flag but no more banging on the windows . One problem solve, another one appears!

Bandit our dog has serious digestive problems and I have an appointment to the vet tomorrow afternoon. He is not at all well! We will see tomorrow what the vet says.

On Friday our son will fly from Dubai to Edinburgh with his family for Autumn break. I think this will be quite a challenge with the two kids. I drove twice on the left in England once with my French car and a manual car and once with a rented automatic car . I landed in Inverness got the car ( never drove an automatic before) it was mid day and I arrived direct on the Inverness ring ! No choice I had to go!

( it was in 2007 my son was 18 just before he went to university. The pictures are taken from a little book my daughter had ordered for us two)

On Skye island Hebrides. We had a wonderful breakfast!

Now my son is approaching 40 and has two boys!

We had a lovely time together!

The round abouts  are very easy but the crossings are very difficult at the beginning and in the evening when you are tired. It was difficult for my brain used to drive on the right!

At the beginning I was driving slowly with an English car so people did not understand why and were not very friendly ( only the first kms) then when we arrived at our first B&B with my son I asked the landlady a piece of paper and a pen. I made myself a placard to put on the back window of the car with:”Beware French driver!”and after that I had no problems only smiles! 😂 then the following days I drove 2000 kms at the Scottish speed on the narrow lanes!

News from our daughter: she says she is improving so it’s reassuring!

Finally yesterday I did not read but knitted. During Autumn and winter I like to knit and do some crochet 🧶 I make scarves, blankets and give them associations. So I am starting by a new scarf for myself and then continuing for others.

The Full Moon 🌝

Hello Friends!

Yesterday morning I went on a little shopping outing and found frames for my watercolours. It is not finished only try to see how I am going to to do.

It was the full moon and I was up at 4 this morning. Could not sleep, I don’t know if it was because of it or because I had problems with the company which was coming to clean the drains yesterday afternoon!

I have been waiting for them to come, phoned without success and finally they did not know if they were coming on Tuesday or Wednesday… so I have spent all afternoon on the phone and they finally came to do the job!

So I was stressed 😣 

Saturday I went to spend my voucher in my favourite shop Aitu voucher. And I found two sweaters and another bag!the other sweater is of a kaki colour you can take the collar off  and have a different sweater then.

This Autumn I am found of kaki, brown . The colours you find in the shops are Burgundy, chocolate, kaki, navy blue.

While I am writing two birds have banged in the windows! I have cleaned the windows with a different 

Brand of window cleaner 😂 quite good actually!

Today some laundry and cleaning but some reading too!

A stormy weekend!

 Hello Friends!

On Saturday the weather was terrible, we had the end of the hurricane coming from the pacific humberto which became Amy a violent storm (3 people died in Europe)

It went through England, Ireland and Scotland before reaching France. Fortunately our son was not in Scotland with the boys! They are leaving on Friday. They will do hiking on the west coast and on skye island in the Hebrides. I went there twice and it is beautiful!

On Saturday morning it was still ok so we went out to my favourite clothes shop to spend a voucher I received some time ago. Then we went to a garden center  which is now having a small restaurant and the wind began to blow !

It was as if the  greenhouse was going to blast! Then it was difficult to stand outside and hold the car doors. At home it was intense but did not last very long ( fortunately!)

In the garden center there is an English double decker bus transformed in a restaurant .

And an old Citroen car cut in two pieces with a bench in the middle. They serve ordinary food but it is cheap, friendly and quick.

On Sunday, we went to Rouen to visit our daughter. She is still using crutches to walk and she still has pain , but she had a MIR yesterday and there is nothing wrong with her back only a muscle tear.

Today, I am going out to do a little shopping to get some supply for my watercolour and try to walk inside on my treadmill and read my book. This afternoon a company is coming to clean the drains outside.

Autumn cleaning before the weekend.

Hello Friends!

Today, I am glad I finished the dusting of the Maileg house! Two hours! So a little bit of more time to decorate it for Fall.

 All is cleaned! At the same time I worked on the first floor. The windows and dusting is done ✔️ ( by the time it’s done upstairs, I will have to clean downstairs …!!)

But it’s done for the moment.

Well now lunch and then reading and watercolour.

Today I’m drinking my coffee in my William Morris “Art and Craft” mug.

Yesterday, I nearly cleaned all the windows, some are left for today. It will soon be the weekend and our shopping day to the market to get fresh fruit and vegetables.

Yesterday I also started this watercolour from a house in Normandy “Pont-l’Eveque”

I also baked a French bread

 Today the weather is still fine, late Summer! This weekend we are going to visit our daughter and see if she is a little better after her Marathon.

Look at the sky!Beautiful for a first of October. We had the weeping willow trimmed in Spring but it is becoming SO huge again.

Reading a thriller before I give it to our daughter. Our daughter injured herself while the Marathon a muscle tear

So she has to rest and read no running. But she goes to work with crutches. Bad luck! I hope it will rapidly heal.

Daphne’s diary is a Dutch magazine and has little paper decoupages inside and many interesting things inside.

 While watching tv at night I like to cut and glue what’s inside the magazine 😂 

This morning was downstairs window cleaning, yogurt making and bread baking.
