Autumn in the country.

Hello Friends!

Today, I woke up with the sound of the ploughing machine next to our bedroom. Autumn 🍂 ploughing as usual.

Some pigeons, magpies and seagulls are following the machine to get some fresh food.

We have seagulls here as we are not too far from the sea 70kms.

Today i remembered I had an old typewriter somewhere in my closets and took it out and will use it in my decoration.

II found some of my favourite “ eau de Cologne” in the Netherlands! Germany is not very far. We met a German couple from Bonn and they had only 4 hours drive to home the same as we had to go back home in Normandy.

I had friends in Germany and stayed there one month when I was 15 and was learning German.

I first bought this eau de Cologne during a visit to Cologne of course! And I like to put some when I go to bed very relaxing. It was created by Wilhelm Mullens who was living 4711 bells street it is named after his address in 1792 this is why the number on the bottle. I am really fan of this eau de Cologne!

A real Autumn weather! Rainy and 12 degrees C.

Time for watercolour! But dusting first not fun! 😂

Some of the last flowers in the garden. Today it is cold 13C I put a pullover on this morning and I ordered fuel for the boiler

We will soon need the heater on!

Today, is kennel day! Going to drive an hour to get our dog  Bandit from the kennel.

Bandit is happy to be back home! He doesn’t like to travel in the car but enjoys home.

I did some shopping yesterday and today I will do some cooking and baking.

Mr L had an appointment to the dentist this morning and the tooth infection was due to a broken root he has had a tooth extracted before going to work! He went to get painkillers and I hope he’ll be ok!

Hello Friends!

After 4 hours drive and one stop at the Starbucks on the motorway, we are back home safely. It is best to drive on a Sunday on the European motorway without many lorries on the road.

Now we are resting and watching tv ( the first time for one week!) and drinking a hot drink with a pumpkin biscuit from the Netherlands! Fall is beginning here in the garden.on Tuesday, I’ll go and get Bandit from the kennel.

We have pictures from Bandit everyday and he looks unhappy to be on his own ! But he has vacations with his friends and is at the hotel( for dogs!)🐶 

In the hotel where we stayed dogs were accepted but our Bandit is not enough well educated…

Tomorrow the laundry will have to be done  and some housework! Back to normal life!

Our last day in the Netherlands 🇳🇱

( Nice Little diary for my handbag so I can learn the days of the week in Dutch!)

Today, it is raining all day! Fortunately I had looked at the weather forecast yesterday and we had a nice time on the beach.

So after breakfast we went to Oostburg  to look at shop windows and I found this sweater for this winter I like it’s colour ( remind me of Scottish heathers !

We also went to Jumbo a supermarket where we usually do our grocery shopping to bring back home. There Mr L found some interesting magazines for me. ( i don’t read Dutch but like children I look at the pictures! 😂)

I will finish my thriller book this afternoon !

Mr L has already finish his.

 Now we will rest and read until the rain stops a bit

A busy morning looking for antibiotics!!

Today was rest day ( for walking!) yesterday we have been walking 10 kms but today  6 kms. This morning after breakfast we went to town to do some shopping and to find a chemistry because Mr L has a tooth infection!

We always take prescriptions with us in case, so he made himself a prescription of antibiotics. Where we are staying there is not anymore a chemist, so we had to go in a bigger town further. We thought we could find a chemist shop turned and turned in the town, but in fact the chemistry was in the hospital!

Now he has got his antibiotics until a dentist appointment.

This is what we did all morning!

This afternoon after a quick and light lunch we took our beach chairs and went reading under a blue sky and sun 🌞. Then we went on a beach restaurant and had another salad 🥗. It was very hot today, so now we went back to the hotel read with the AC on!

Tomorrow is our last day and it will be raining. We will go grocery shopping in the morning, some food we don’t find in France.

Another day by the sea.

We had fish last night but it is Fried fish Mr L had fried fish and french fries, so I had paprika grilled shrimps and then we had a walk in the village.

You order and you sit in the veranda and wait until it’s cooked.

Today, we went shopping for our friends and family before the tourists arrive for the weekend ( there are a lot of outlets close to here. Sometimes you drive in Belgium 🇧🇪 and then back to Netherlands 🇳🇱 !
 

Then we visited a tiny village, the very big church dates back to the 15 th Century.

I love this little house and would love to live there!

Look at the size of people! You have an idea how tall it is.

We went inside but they were doing the cleaning so we didn’t stay.

All in bricks. 🧱 

We went back to the hotel before going back to walk by the sea and have our lunch on the beach restaurant.

The weather is still gray, but the temperature begins to go up!

What to do on a rainy day?

Today, the day started with rain! 

We had our breakfast and then we took the car to visit a few places in the country. Then we had lunch with a croque monsieur and salad. As we were in town we visited some shops and went walking along the canal and went to the hotel swimming pool and had a rest.

The pumpkins 🎃 are in front of a house I am used to go, you choose the pumpkin you want and pay in the box.

Along the canal is a nice place to walk, I love it!

This house is on sale it’s a nice and quiet place.

Last night we went to our favourite restaurant to have our grilled fish dish for two. The kitchen at the back.

I had my non alcohol cocktail 

 And we shared 5 different fishes 🐠 and scampi 🍤 

It was delicious !😋 

Now we are having a rest reading before going back to walk on the beach.
