Childhood

This morning I was dusting the room and souvenirs of my children childhood reminded me of the old good times.

On the wall an old school map .

Some years ago I found these wooden Pinocchio, I like the simplicity of the dolls.

This is our son’s room and with his sister we had decorated the whole cieling with stars and planets that shines at night.

When my son came for Christmas he bought the same ones for his baby boy Maxime.

This is a talking fish, he sings bring me to the water !

This little horse is called Palomino, we brought it when we went on holidays in Cornwall a long time ago.

 These wooden dolls are a present from my son from Greece when he was on Erasmus.

Today, is still a sunny cold day and this afternoon I will cook some vegetables, while Bandit my dog, whatch his favorite tv program « Rex » a police dog!

Baking and planing.

Hello!

This morning, I have been busy baking, while washing machine was doing the work.

I tried for the first time to bake Speculoos.

My daughter had brought me this wooden speculoos making thing from Belgium and I tried to use it.

It is not perfect but I have to make some more to get correct biscuits.

Today, we are having 5C but ☀️ sun and sun for the rest of the week and weekend!

I am going to start this big jigsaw my son gave me for Xmas. I think it will be quite hard.

This is the windmill I wanted to make.

I love Hyacinths and especially white ones. Their perfume is spreading in the room.

 I also made 18 yogurts and a Brioche.

We are planing to go back to the Netherlands  as soon as we can. Bandit will go to the kennel and we will go to the North Sea to have some fresh air without a 😷

I miss the long walks on the beach!

We will go there as usual by car and we will stop to Bruges on the way. Hope to be able to go there very soon!

Polka dots.

Last night I have cut the stems and they are much better today!

I am still reorganising my wardrobe! And like very much polka dots.

I found last year these two dots jackets navy blue and a red one.

I already had a black twin set. Do you like polka dots clothes?

I am going back to my wardrobe to check what I am going to keep or not!

Yesterday, I bought the first tulips of the winter. They are not coming from my garden, but from The Netherlands 🇳🇱! The problem with tulips, is that they keep growing when cut.

I received one of my favorite magazine “esprit d’ici”

It’s a beautiful magazine about country living and this one is about snowdrops and a “ kouglof “ recipe.

A speciality from Alsace ( east of France”)

Nice pictures of wildlife and a nice magazine to read by a winter afternoon!

And I will also read “ Bécassine”

À Bécasse is a bird and Bécassine is not very intelligent and has the brain of a bird!

We used to read her adventures when we were young ( younger 😊!)

I found it in a museum , when we went to Falaise castle and museum with my son.

There is a museum about the life of civilians during world war 2 and this is were I found this book. This is a comic.

Mr L went to do a little shopping for the birds and brought me the white Hyacinths! I love their perfume.
