There was a Swedish 🇸🇪 tale and the story of Santa Lucia
Then some Christmas Carols by Swedish Teen agers.
At the end we did a procession with our little lights
Went to the parish Hall to share Swedish hot wine and a little saffron bread.
I went to the little shop in the first picture to buy her delicious Apple jelly ( with vanilla and cinnamon)
This house is beautiful but empty and soon will be a ruin!

We rushed home, had a quick lunch and left for the Abbey.
When we arrived it was already crowded and finally found a place to park. I had made a reservation two days before fortunately! Lots of people were there from the surrounding but a lot from Paris and parents from Sweden.
It was a good Advent gathering ( I was not too bad !) we enjoyed ourselves and in those difficult days everywhere it was nice to be there all together and listen to these beautiful Carols!

Hello Catherine, what a beautiful old house, it shouldn't be demolished.
RépondreSupprimerI love the Advent and Christmas customs of my own family and country, but I'm also interested in and open to other customs.
I was looking forward to your report on the Swedish Santa Lucia tradition and I was happy to see that you wrote.
Thank you! Éva
It sounds like such a nice day! So special to hear the carols in the Abby.
RépondreSupprimerThat old house is beautiful, it's sad to see it taken down.
So nice to see the Lucia celebration!
RépondreSupprimerNice day and great celebration.
RépondreSupprimerYou know I did this last iPhone up date and everything changed - wish I hadn't done it. lol
Wonderful! Thank you for showing us the Lucia celebration. It was never part of my experience growing up, but with my Swedish/Norwegian heritage I embrace it.
RépondreSupprimerThank you. I've heard about this when I had a Swedish penfriend as a child but had never seen any pictures. I really enjoyed the singing and seeing the children taking part.
Prachtig allemaal.
Lieve groet Willy
Love that you got to listen to the music.
