From a book to souvenirs.

Hello Friends,
After reading the « Girl with a pearl » by Tracy Chevalier in English, I am back to French, but read a Japanese book. I love Japanese culture and literature and have read many books. It’s a very good book ( from my point of view) full of sensitivity.

Made me think of my first visit to Japan when I was 18.

I have worked during my summer holidays to buy my plane ticket and visited my friend Masako in Tokyo for the summer months. We met as we were «  Au Pair » in England and then she stayed in France with my family for Christmas and before going back to Japan.
This reminded me of the picture of me in front of the beautiful  impressive  statue of Bouddha in Kamakura.

We are both here « young » and having fun!
It’s now a long time ago…
Today, we had the first frost, the boiler is on and I went to have my hair cut yesterday and did the grocery. So today will be cooking day, craft, knitting and reading day and catching up with blogs.
At 6 o’clock I’ll follow the live from my favourite clothes shop and then we’ll certainly work on the puzzle đŸ§©.
This will be my day 😃!
Hope you’ll day will be a fine day.
Thank you for visiting.

  1. I've never been an "Au pair", but I've had visits from people I've met through blogging. It was nice, and they were just like I saw them in real life on their blogs. There was no disappointment, just the pleasure of meeting them! After a few foggy days, the sun is shining. It wasn't freezing in the morning. This is my daily weather report! :)

  2. What nice memories of that trip and your friend!
It's cold here too. I have laundry going, am going to make a pie for a church supper and we may work on putting up some Christmas things.
    Have a nice day!

  3. How lovely to have visited a friend in Japan all those years ago. Knowing someone adds to the enjoyment because they can explain things and take you places most tourists don't know about.
Enjoy your day's activities. Today I plan to sew and cook. And do a little shopping.

  4. It must have been a great experience visiting Japan. It sounds like you had a good day! I have been to the dentist for annual check up, and did some errands when I was in town, so I have been exhausted and just relaxed :)

  5. I find it kind of startling to see photos of myself so young. Aging is a slow process. I guess that's a good thing. Thanks for the glimpse of you as a young thing.
