It’s finished!

After 6 hours here it is! Not the vintage one I wanted, because it was not fitting in the fireplace, but this one is modern but I find it nice.

The windows are open it is hot outside, but I must have it burning as it is new and there is a smell so they said it was better for the first use in spring or summer with windows open

Hello friends!

This is the day! I am really scared of what they will find when opening the fireplace door because we had a weasel in the chimney for all summer last year and they surely are dead animals in it? We rolled the carpet to be ready!

 This will be a hot day today after the freezing and rainy weather we had these last weeks.

It was a long and busy day, but one project done!

On Monday this is another   Bank holiday and we will go to Ikea something new to purchase for the room!

Our Home in Normandy

Somebody asked me a picture of our home. So this morning I went out to take pictures and look at the moles heap to take them off before the robot cut the grass.

This Saturday we must clean the terrace  and we decided to re organise the garden.🪴

The entire house but hidden by bushes. Three windows upstairs typical of Normand houses. It will be warm but not with a blue sky today!

This  is a 70’s house copying Normand houses. On the right side there is a balcony and the special roof particularity of Normand houses.

Today, is the beginning of  the coming very hot day coming from Sahara the sky should be full of sand and orange in some places! Better take the car in the garage!

We will have sand everywhere on the roof windows…

Tonight we will move the furniture for tomorrow stove installation. We won’t have the downstairs AC installed yet for the heat wave it will be done end of June unfortunately.

I am thinking about how to  re structure the garden a little

In September we will have the garage door changed and next will be the gate. I chose gray colour  for the door and it will match the gate. I don’t particularly like gray but

If we decide  to move one day it is a modern colour young people like. And an electric door to be easier for us.

This is what we have decided for the moment!

Better go and put the car in the garage now!

A cold and rainy day.

Today it’s a rainy day! Again! Before the Thursday’s heat.

I went to have my haircut yesterday I was the only one at the end of the day, so we chat and ate cookies with my hairdresser.its a family country place and you feel at ease

This is what I like it.

I have problems to open the window shutters now, the rose bush is growing a lot and is blocking  the shutter.

We prepared our fire place for Thursday wood stove to be installed. We bought some wood but ordered more that will arrive in June.

On Sunday I found a small Yankee candle ( lemon and lavender) and on Saturday some lemon meringue spray

This are very nice and perfume the room.

 It is very dark and we need the light on.

I have some shirts to iron ( I am looking for my husband ‘s retirement and no more shirts to iron!)

Some cooking. I already did some yogurts and cottage cheese. I will make some carrot and cumin soup, apple crumble and I’ll see what else I can cook… soon I ‘ll make jam for the winter.

It is cold hardly 8 degrees so I will stay inside and do some craft.

New purchases

Hello friends!

First let me show you the sandals I found yesterday to wear with many different clothes and with my polka dot dress.

New pink rose bush I decided to put pink, different blue and white in the garden.

This is the rose bush at one corner of the house that is starting to bloom, many roses to come!

 This is the front door. Next weekend we are going to clean the terrace! A big job

Today, I must really go to have my hair cut before the big rush of the week! Move the furniture before they clean the chimney and install the wood stove and next the cleaning 🧽! I think I will have a lot of cleaning 

Then the installation of an AC downstairs a little later. I had to order wood for a delivery, boiler cleaning and our other AC cleaning. all will be done in May and June before the firm’s holiday.( nothing is working here in August!) more to come in September. I always have to organise before the holidays and rush in September. So everything will be done!

It is always cold but from Thursday the temperature will increase and we will suddenly have 30 degrees C for the weekend about 20 degrees difference.

News from our grandchildren. They are back to school, but for how long?

We prepare their arrival this summer but we are not sure they can come? This makes a lot of worries!

Yesterday we had a snack at the Turkish restaurant we are used to eat each Saturday, it’s good, simple and quick!

We bought our weekly coffee for the week. I like strong Italian coffee.

This is a touch of their country lemons and  blue eye glass for protection( in Mediterranean countries)

Our daughter has sent a link to us of a garden we can visit in May close to where we live. We also went to a shoe outlet which was open on our way and I got some new sandals for the summer to match with a new summer dress .

 This week will be a very busy one! So I wish you a nice week!
