A very difficult and dangerous time!

Hello Friends!

Today, it is going to be HOT again!

I don’t want to bother you, but the situation is really serious! Fires everywhere in Europe especially in Spain big fires 🔥

I will have to go and get some groceries early morning before the rising heat and then stay inside “Again! And again!” We will have to wait till 15 th of July to have a cooler weather. Today it is declared to be a dangerous weather week more than 40 degrees in the shade in some places. Here today 35 in the shade. Extreme heat 🥵 is declared in the country!

I am looking for new salad recipes  I don’t want to use the oven or gas. I use my small air fryer if needed.

The flax in the field is left to dry for some weeks before it is harvested. I like the pattern they make.

After the 14 th of July our national day I will certainly make a blog pause when our son’s family will arrive. I will have to prepare the house, get some food… not much to say for the moment as i can’t go out and take pictures. Many people lost their house and lives unfortunately because of the numerous fires I hope things will improve very soon!

I wish you a good weekend and hope to have better news next time.

  2. The grain fields here are almost harvested, earlier than usual due to the heat. Despite the fire ban, there are fires. A thrown match is enough for a tragedy, or a piece of glass left in the sun for a long time.
The shape of the harvested flax is beautiful, I really like it. There is almost nothing on it, and yet there is a lot of harmony and symmetry.
The temperature is bearable here now, just 28.6C.
Have a nice weekend to you too, endure the heat with the AC.
    Hugs. Éva

  4. I cannot imagine the stress of such incessant heat day after day. It saps all energy. The fires are dreadful.
Do you like watermelon? We enjoy it cut into cold chunks and sprinkled with feta cheese when it's hot out. Add some fresh mint and a squeeze of lemon juice, or some olives.

  5. It's winter here but even in summer we never experience that sort of heat. Are the shops open later in the evenings when it cools down or do they remain open all day? Have you checked out 'The Low Carb Diabetic' blog? There are often really good salads on there, one just recently was for a tomato, mozzarella and peach. It sounds really refreshing. keep cool and well.
