This morning I went to have a look at the field next to our garden and I am waiting for the flax flowers to come out!
It will be all blue ( a very special blue) just for a few days.
The flowers will open in the morning in the sun and close every evening.
On the first picture is the kind of thread coming from the stems after they are dried. You don’t cut the flax but it is torn out. Then it becomes rough string on picture one or thread to weave fabric like the fabric on the pictures and very thin fabric to make clothes.
In summer I wear linen which is cool but crumples but for me it doesn’t matter.
The lavender is blooming soon ready to put in small bags and go into the drawers.
Just starting to bloom I am impatiently waiting for the full bloom! Normandy is a big agricultural producer 50% of the world production.

Prachtig als alles blauw is.

First, I will write about the beautiful blue color of the flax flower. It has a pleasantly gentle color, the petals are very modest, just to my taste.
RépondreSupprimerI am sure you will post more pictures when the many flowers form a whole field.
Congratulations on your daughter's 40-km run. Your son will definitely arrive in Europe.
I am not well, I feel nauseous. Maybe the problem is that I ate a lot of salted peanuts before lunch, or the weather is not good, because the weather is getting warmer again.
I think I shouldn't have eaten peanuts, but I did. I am waiting for this unpleasant feeling to pass.
I did my housework in the morning, now I will be free until I watch TV in the evening.
Take care of yourself and don't rush to finish the work that you have left behind.
Hugs. Éva
I love the delicate blue colour of flax flowers.
RépondreSupprimerCongratulations to Maud on completing the marathon.
Flax flowers are so beautiful. I once listened to a woman tell of the work of creating linen cloth. It is very labour intensive. Linen is a lovely fabric to wear in summer and I don't mind the wrinkles, either.
RépondreSupprimerCongratulations to your daughter on the marathon! I hope your son's travel went well.
Flax is a long gone crop from my childhood neighborhood.
